  1. Believe it or not, this basic question is being cussed and discussed on a hot rodding board - the HAMB. Why do people bring new cars to a show for old hot rods? Many of the answers posted have the same arguments - pro & con - that are being posted here. My slant on it - keep on walking if you don't like 'em.
  2. Are they white cars in a snowstorm?
  3. Curtis - Have you been in touch with Larry Tholen, the fellow who runs the Rockne Registry? He can help you with your questions! Try this link for Larry's email address: http://www.theantiquestudebakerclub.com/rockne/rockne.htm Good luck! - Studemax
  4. Herschel is an awesome possum, for sure!
  5. Dang - shoulda known it! My first car was a '58 Ford Ranch Wagon.
  6. Interesting pieces, for sure!
  7. For the uninitiated, the HAMB is a hot rod forum aka Hokey Ass Message Board. They love old cars, and MANY old car restorers log on and talk old cars with the rodders. Don't turn up your nose at them - these guys are the future. Here's a link if you're interested in introducing yourselves... THE H.A.M.B. - Powered by vBulletin
  8. I've been reading about that on some hot rod boards. Too cool.....
  9. The "8" on the hood is the clue. Commanders were equipped with V8's. Champions were equipped with 6's.
  10. Supposedly, in the new "Public Enemies" flick, a Studebaker once used by John Dillinger is filmed in a heist.
  11. Get yourself a free PhotoBucket account (or other photo-hosting site), and put up as many pix as you like! Don't just wait on Peter.
  12. NHRA holds more races than any other sanctioning body in the world. And this forum ain't the place to look, while we are on the subject. Try NHRA.com for best info.

    Race day

I was NOT a fan of Earnhardt, Sr. I prefer racers who don't take out everybody just to win, and when they've lost their touch - have a Daytona win handed to them by the Frances, just to complete their portfolio before they die. Call me a jerk if you like, but I think his driving style sucked!
  14. Try resizing your photos before posting them. On PhotoBucket you can do it automatically with one click....
  15. If this is outta line, let me know - One of the founding families of the Midway Chapter of the Studebaker Drivers Club is selling it all - cars, trucks, parts cars, and tons of NOS & used parts. This is a LIFETIME of Studebaker going on the auction block. Here is a link to the auctioneer's page - lots of pictures and listings to choose from... http://kaufmanauctiononline.tripod.com/baty_cars.htm Here are extra photos of Studebakers to be auctioned on the auctioneer's website - http://kaufmanauctiononline.tripod.com/baty_cars_extra.htm Here is a link to parts photos offered in this auction - http://s588.photobucket.com/albums/ss323/studemax7/ I can also provide the sellers email address and home phone if you require more information - just contact me. If you'd like an auction flyer with complete listings of vehicles and descriptions, PM me and I will email it to you. This auction is NOT to be missed if you want to buy old Studebaker cars or parts - be there! End of spamming.....
  16. Yes - they have the rhythym sort of correct, but not even close to the correct pitch. I chalk it up to them being engineers, not musicians.
  17. Has Larry Tholen, keeper of the Rockne Registry been contacted? http://www.theantiquestudebakerclub.com/rockne/rockne.htm
  18. <div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">Getting older... </div></div> Tell me more about that great looking hammered brass gas tank! And why the huge "cap"?
