    ABS fix ?

Check this thread with lots of info on the subject: TEVES Debacle You have two threads started on this subject. It would be much easier to follow if you delete one and stay with the other.

  3. Thanks. I didn't realize that was Barney's website.
  4. What is the link to Barney's site that you refer to? I'm not sure I have seen it.

They really need to update their website. Anyway, I'm glad you found what you needed.

    E026 code

Code E026 is telling you that the ECU is seeing an expected voltage. I had the problem that you explain and it was the EGR valve not functioning properly. That is where I would start looking. Good Luck!

Sounds to me like you are looking for someone to solve your problems while you go have a beer. Go correct the problems you know you have and then come back and we will try to help.

  9. Dave you bypassed a few of important steps that may or may not come back to haunt you. 1. You should have removed the compressor and drained the old oil and replaced the o-rings when reconnecting. 2. You should have replaced the filter/dryer (sometimes called the accumulator) as it also holds oil. 3. You should have pulled a vacuum on the system to remove any air before refilling. Some people do as you did and never have a problem. Others will need to replace the compressor after a short period of time. Many used car lots go the route that you did knowing they will only have the car a short time.
  10. In this case, (looking for a fluid leak), it is not a very accurate test. Water can leak out in areas where there is no intake vacuum present to suck the combustible fluid in. A better test would be to pressurize the coolant system. You can buy a kit that will connect to the radiator cap and includes a pump that will apply pressure to the system. Then you will be able to find the exact spot where the coolant is leaking from. Pressurizing a cool system is a lot better than having to look for the leak while the engine is hot and under pressure.

    AC Woes

There is a bearing supporting the clutch that could be locked up.
  12. The poll on my website says the 51-60 age group are still leading the way in Reatta ownership at 48.8%. Surprisingly the 61-70 age group is in second place. I thought it would be the 41-50 people. I encourage everyone to go to the website and take the poll.
  13. I cain't spel anythang right with tha spel chicker turnd off.
  14. I think the white one looks like someone has loaded up a Reatta on a farm wagon with big fancy wheels. If it had a tongue connected to the SUV in front it would look like it was being towed. I hope this wasn't spotted back in the hills of Tennessee. Our reputation of being dumb is bad enough without something like that.

    New 91 Owner!

Welcome to the forum! The FSM (Field Service Manual) says the code is set when there is no signal sent to the ECM of 4 seconds or more. Could be a bad connection of a bad MAF sensor. You can go to reatta.net and register for a free online FSM. Click on the 'Documents' sections to find it. The FSM has a flow chart to help diagnose the MAF sensor.
  16. So far over 50% of those who have participated in the poll have been between 50 and 60 years old. Take the poll I just placed on my website. It is on the right side of the homepage toward the bottom of the page. Click the link in my signature line and it will take you there.
  17. I'm not aware of any GM vehicles that used 18mm plugs. At least since 1955. Maybe some of the early antiques used them. Only thing I remember using them is 1960s and earlier model Fords. I would not base my tap purchase on it having a tap for 18mm plugs. Get yourself a good name brand tap and you can't go wrong. Bad tools are like bad women... they will let you down as soon as you start to depend on them.
  18. You're welcome Nic. A word of advice from a machinist (me). Don't go to cheap on a tap. Cheap ones get dull really quick and will not cut a thread smooth which could result in the spark plug being hard to remove. Greenfield and Vermont are the top Brands. Do some research on other brands you decide to buy. Also, if you are going to run the tap into a spark plug hole that is on the engine, put heavy grease on the tap to catch any metal chips that might go into the cylinder. Only run it into the hole a little way (two or three turns) and remove. Clean the metal chips and grease off the tap and hole, re-grease the tap and do it again. Repeat until the hole is re-tapped all the way. Carefully clean the hole before using.
