  1. How much did they give you for it, if yoiu do not mind me asking. I am not too far from there and for the right price I may be able to buy it. Plus I already have the front glass and know where the reat and sides are fora a good price.
  2. You may have trouble finding one, but the Reatta is not too diffrent from many other cars of that era. Also there is many people here that are very well versed in diagnosing issues with Reattas, so you may be wise to tell us what your issue is h on here. Granted we can not fix it from here but we can point you in the right direction, let you know if your mechanic is just changing parts or has a grasp on what he is doing, and even give you an idea of where to find the hard to find parts.
  3. I had a perfect body and interior 88' blue on blue lined up to buy from a local pull-a-part. I said I would be there to buy it for $500 on Friday they crushed it on Wednessday.
  4. uhm... NO, additives are not good way to go. If an additive truely stopped a leak think of what it would do to the inside of your engine. Now if you needed a quick/emergency fix they can do, but I would always flush out what ever system you used it in.
  5. The ECM and BCM are just control boxes and not likely your issue. Any mechanic worth his wieght should be able to trouble shoot it for you.

    ECM PROM??

GM and AC delco do the part numbers in order, so the latest would be the higher part number.
  7. Ok I have basicly finished my camaro brake mod ( the write up will come shortly)and have no use for my teeves systems. I have one that I was diving around with and the accumulator is fairly new. I also have two other sytems that I pulled out of junk yard, I have not tested them but I am sure at least one of them will work. I do not have the time to test them. If any one is interested in them I am letting them go cheap. I olny want what I have in them. PM me if you are interested.
  8. I weould say keep it. They are rare no matter the condition. Like Padgett said, what kind of car could you get for the same price. Reattas are good solid cars and with the help here any one that is willing to do there own work can fix most of the car. As long as you have a $50 set of tools.
  9. can some one get me the specs for the shocks?
  10. How about the power locks? I would check the body fuse.
  11. The shims change the angle that the strut meets the control arm. These are just about the only way to change that angle on the Reatta and many other cars. As far as how important the rear alignment, how important is making your tires last? Depending on how far out the alignment is would change how important it is. I would keep an eye on the rear tires.
  12. <div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Originally Posted By: EDBS0</div><div class="ubbcode-body">Interesting question time. Ethanol has a very high octaine rating. Ethanol has a much higher octane rating than gas. E85 is around a 106 octane rating. And pure ethanol would be a bit higher. But a higher octane rating is not always a good thing. Ina a lower compression engine it just causes a loss of efficiency.
  13. If you can get through the top storage area, you can open it by the release lever in the trunk. I am not sure how difficult it is to reach, but I do know that the lever is there.
  14. I was never very good at this game either.
  15. GOOD TO HEAR AND THANKS FOR THE UPDATE.
  16. If not I am sure by tracking down the wire diagram you could figure out what the inputs and outputs are. It basically works the same as a distributor. A timed pulsating signal tells the module when to fire each cylinder. Also if I remeber right, each coil pack fires twice per engine cycle. Meaning that both coils per pack fire at the same time. (I may be wrong on this but I a pretty sure that is how my old chilton manual described the circuit) Good luck with it. It could come in ver handy.
  17. Time for a rebuild or replacement.
  18. It is simple to swap the touch screen, but I would clean and check the connections, both the one connecting from the vehicle harness and the ones connecting the touch panel to the CRT
  19. The oil pan seal is not reuseable. Not even the top of the line fel-pro is reuseable. The oil pan gasket will last forever if it is installed correctly and that means torqued right. One other thing, do not over use the black silicone that come with the gasket. A little dab in the corners is enough.
  20. reatta.net, register and you will getr access to the factory service manual.
  21. I run 17x9 cobra R rims and have no issue of spacing or rubbing, but they are extremely close. My tires are 245, so basically 10" wide.
  22. Worked with mine. Also with the SC swap I used the one from the SC engine.
  23. The only crossover I have found is in the factory wiring right before the factory tweeters. The mids did not need any kind of crossover do to the bass roll off effect of the factory amp/brain.
  24. That is very true a vaccume leak would most likely cause hard starts all the time.
