  1. Hey some one posted about a silver reatta in the San Antonio area. It may still have the front glass. I am not sure how far you are from there but, Glass from pick-a-part is usally cheap. I only paid $35 for mine. Any how it would be worth a call.
  2. I always use a quart of trany fluid for 5 to ten right before a oil change. Usally works to clean gunk issues. Also I always do a second oil change 500 to 1k miles after, just to ensure I have gotten all the tranny fluid out of the system.
  3. dust shield. take the tire off and ensure the shield is around one centermeter away from the disk
  4. I would not give up on the ICM idea. Did you do the upgrade to the ICM? Also the reason I would put my money on the ICM is it (to my knowlege) does not set a code.
  5. I am going to assume that he is trying to put it in a 90-91'. If he is tring to do it in a 88-89' I will not have anything to do with tearing up the dash area. I am not sure what radio year he is tring to use, but most GM (buick chevy will have the green back lights) 95' to 90' will plug right in to the harness. I would imagine that most single disc units would fit in the dash area. If some one can get me the GM part number off the radio for a 90-91 I will do some indepth research to find a modle cross over. Personaly I would just go with a after market head unit for the 90-91's. Less issues with age, better sound, and wider variety on meadia formats, make it a no brainer in my opinion. But I will do what I can to help out.
  6. I am not sure of the exact length. I would do a mock up with the original and a stiff wire. Wrap the wire around the banjo bolt end and see how much longer the wire is than the original. I say use the wire because you sould be able to get a good idea of the path that the hose will have to take. Also make sure to put a bit of pressure on the control arm to ensure full extention. I would not imagine the hose will have to be much more than 3 inches longer, but that is a just a shot in the dark.
  7. I had 3 braided metal hoses 2 ft long made for $65, these did not include pressing on a bracket, but I am sure that it would not add too much cost to the project. I would at least look into it. There is a whole lot of flex in my front hoses while using the camarro calipers. I will be upgrading to the braided hose shortly after working out the kinks in the complete camarro swap.
  8. Have them made from a brake shop. Have them use braided steel line, and bring them the originalls. They should be able to reuse the original brackets. Also the price will/should not be much more than buying OEM hoses.

    Brakes

do you still have brakes? Can you hear the pump running?
  10. I am always impressed by the knowlege here
  11. Easy to remove. Rare, yes. Some can be rebuilt. No aftermarket known to me. I would take it out and clean/check your conections.
  12. The TCC (torque converter clutch) has nothing (as far as I know) to do with the e026 (quad circuit). The TCC is located in the trany and I believe can be replaced with out removing the trany, but do not quote me on that. I would look at the on car service section of the factory manual (found at reatta.net, you must registar to use it). If I remember right, the the torque converter clutch TCC solenoid is fairly cheap. I will look a bit deeper into it, tomarrow if no one else gives you a more specific answer.
  13. To keep it as stock as possible and still get the fetures you want, replace or repair the radio brain and add an aux connection. A 1/8" jack fits nicely in the ashtray area. This would give you a audio input that can be used with almost any headphone out device.
  14. A power booster out of a 97' blazer with a 3/4 x 5/8 spacer from lowes, work great. It is the right length push rod and the center plunger of the powerbooster matches up with the 91' caddy master cylinder. That should give a good start point for a straight over convertion.
  15. So did we have him check the ICM and coil pack? Either issue can cause the same symptoms. I just think the coil pack is an easier job to do, but not as cheap unless you get it from a yard.
  16. If you have timt to wait I am doing a 98-02 camaro complete brake system swap, but it will be 5 weeks until I post it.
  17. I had my e026 removed when I did my engine swap. I was never able to find the true issue. I honestly do not think my car had an issue. But if you find what is causing it post back, I realy want to see the/a cause.
  18. is this when the car is sitting stil, or moving or both? If it is when the car is sitting still check the engine fan fuse. As far as the blower not blowing hard enogh I would put money on the blower module. too find this just follow the wires from the blower motor. They go straight to it. Here is a link for the module. http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductDetai...816&PTSet=A
  19. I would bet on it having a salvage title, being the issue for many. Even knowing that I would but it if I had the funds.
  20. Connections, and the power to the screen would be my first checks. Is it just the display? I mean does the touch portion work?
  21. Buy rebuilt or new, both will last for a long time. I am using a rebuilt one. I believe it is cardone. Just remember that you need the one with an extra port hole. It took me a while to figure out what one I needed. The extra hole is for the power steering sensor. The rack and pinion is very common so the good news is that either way it is not too pricey.
  22. uhmmmmmmmmm..................... should have spent the money on something a bit more useful. Like a supercharged engine and a brake up grade. At least now he would have no issue with the fit of the calipers. And did I mention I do not much care for how it looks
  23. Does it have the 4+3 trany, there were only 1,100 of those produced, but yes many issues
  24. They made many more vettes, than Reattas. Downside is the Reatta is not a hotrod.
