  1. I am still just a poor soldier. May be in a few years.
  2. I still like the supercharged option.
  3. Most 88-89 (riv, reatta,I think but not 100% the tornado eldorado, ect) will work, but you must swap the proms.
  4. here, http://forums.aaca.org/ubbthreads.php/ub...puts#Post501626 any questions?
  5. Great info It wil save me in my search for the rear upgrade, But I have a few questions that I will post to you shortly.
  6. where are you at I need a parts car. All can be fixed and should, but the paint and windshield do make it a costly investment. The front end and AC pump are cheap and easy fixes. And the parts are readily available.
  7. Yes I finised it. I will do a write up shortly. Also I used both the rive master and a camarro master.
  8. That will help, but the rear is where I am still stuck on. I do look forward to seeing you posts.
  9. Phil, Get-R-Done, I want to see it, pluss these cars will not make very good use of a extreme amount of power. That is with out major mods to the handeling. I am very hopeful in seeing you finish with the six speed.
  10. I am with Ronnie on this. The body fuse provides power for so many things, as you know. I would check for pinched wires, backward connections, or stuck motor or solenoids.
  11. I see it has not changed too much over the years.
  12. Electronics do not get changed much, other than the programming of the ECM. But I would not just bolt on a supercharged. Cost wise it is about the same to just purchase the whole set up from a yard. I did make a list of the thing that had to be changed or modified in a erlier post.
  13. Go to a junk yard and grab them off an other car. Many other GM cars have close to the same set up. Also I get a bit jelous when I see that pick Jon. I will have to pretty mine up once I get som free time.
  14. Wish I could give you ten grand for it, it is my favorite color combo, and I want one to keep original.
  15. congrats, The car could not have found a better owner
  16. OK just to put the two cents in of a high voltage electrician that has experience in rebuilding full size (500kw-1.5MW) generators. A rebuilt alternator is as good if not better than the OEM. If a componet is found to be a common failure, by a major rebuilder, it is usally up graded to a new more reliable part. Also, the windings are usally revarnished and baked, this thickens the insulation on the windings and repairs the week or faulty areas. And on top of this the bearings are replaced. Most alternators that go bad in the first part of their life is usaly due to over tightening the belt cuasing overheating. Next is due to poor reman process. So do not buy the bargan brand. I have never had an issue buying a rebuilt alternator. I have seen a couple go bad or shipped bad, but for the money savings over buying new there is not a better option. Except for junk yard $12 dollar replacements.
  17. Why not add a aux input you can do it with out modifing any thing in the car and it gives you a much beter sound quality.
  18. Not too much more to install a sc motor. The piggy back ECM (or as it is refered to by GM after 92' PCM) is only like 4 parralle wires, 2 batt wires, 2 grounds, and four new. My numbers may be a bit off but I if you are serious about the whole thing I will post it this weekend. Also I did a short , write up on the SC engine that had a few correctons add by a very knowlegeable person. Oh sh*t I will post it. http://forums.aaca.org/ubbthreads.php/topics/476731/The_series_one_swap#Post476731 Hope this give you an idea. The one thing I did forget was the trannys put out diffrent pulses for the speedo so the ECM prom will have to be reprogrammmed to accomodate this($90 to include adapter and programming from GMtuners.com)
  19. Pull one from a supercharged car, 93 to 95. They are a HD version of the 4t60E. If you are driving a 91 it is a direct fit, if not you will have to use a 91 passenger axle and have your passenger-side mount modiied. Not too hard to do. The other two things you must do is piggyback the ECM to control the tranny and have your ECM chip programmed to the new speed sensor. All in all not too hard of a swap, for a tranny that is geared lower and will last much longer. BTW I am using it in my 89' with a series one supercharged engine.
  20. Drive to the coast rent a boat go 40 miles off shore ant throw it to the ocean floor. But on the helpful note, use plugs and fill with fresh fluid. If you do not use fluid the internal components will most likely decay.
  21. To bypass the AC pump you would remove the pump altogether and fin a shorter belt. Other thing a AC pump from a junk yard is not very expensive.
  22. 89' no they were a one piece coil. I would go ahead and update to the new coil pack and controller. Other wise known as the Padgett upgrade. This may be your whole issue, if not I would check the crank position sensor. Not sure if there is a test.
