  1. The Goodyear promo Buick - this time 1929 model.
  2. Well, I think IT IS Buick as suggested 1927 Standard Six. The odd corner on the radiator looks like something (somebody?) has been cut out of the original picture - pre-photoshop job :-) Observe carfully the right upper corner of the picture, something (a tree? disliked person?) has been erased there...
  3. Some little progress - Christmas 2011.
  4. Bill, thanks for the compliment. I have placed one of custom bodied Packards (533) in Packard forum. (http://forums.aaca.org/f134/custom-bodied-packards-294757-3.html). And, there is whole thread about my 28-49 Mc Laughlin Master Six with custom built limo. http://forums.aaca.org/f165/1928-mclaughlin-prague-257454.html
  5. Bill inspired me a bit and I found these pictures in my folders. 2 cars are from part of town Brno called Komin. ONE car of volunteer fire dept, one ambulance. Note the registrations of ambulance, white letters on black are pre war Czechoslovakia, black letter on white are from 40s when Germans occupied this country. To be honest I am just told that the ambulance is Buick, so please let me know if thats not correct ID. The old limousine is 1926 Master Six limousine modified with 28 headlamps; I suspect the headlamps came from (late) my 1928 Master Six. The sexy looking crew car is still the same 26 Master Six modified for this purpose in 1935. The car still exists and was restored from junk in 1953. The other colour picture is of my McLaughlin Master Six as acquired in 1997. The front cut-out served for accomodation of water pump when the car was modified for another local fire dept in 1935. Enjoy, Josef
  6. Seems to be actually two differnet things; the bigger piece of paper seems to be for "diesel fuel" or mineral oil (170 kgs of). Two smaller coupons are for 5 liters of "carburettor fuel" 5 liters each. I wonder how far you can go in 1941 Buick with 10 litres of petrol - 30 miles?
  7. Military uniforms at second picture are Polish.
  8. Does anybody recognise this instrument panel? Late 20s but what? Thanks, Josef
  9. Mark, I am now solving issue how to clean wood from water stains and dirt and make it fresh(er) natural look again. Would you mind to share that pdf file from your friend? Josef
  10. Hi, does anybody recognise this window mechanism, what is it coming from? There are two (bronze) wheels in pot metal box, the window is moved by lever operated by screw and supported by strong spring. I am trying to find two or three more mechanisms like that, at least the boxes w/ gears would be sufficient. Thanks, Josef
  11. Looking for body parts for 3-35 Touring 7 pass. Doors (any), lock mechanisms. Windscreen. B-column. Any condition considered, patterns welcome, we are ready to manufacture so we can duplicate parts from your patterns as a (partial) trade. Any help appreciated. Josef
  12. Maybe anyone here could be interested. Buick 4 door 1928 for sale - PreWarCar Have no relation to the owner, just spotted the ad.
  13. Fiat 514 :-) Note the car is quite small in size. http://www.shorey.net/auto/italian/Fiat/1930%20Fiat%20514%20T-red&black=mx=.jpg
  14. Yep, as you can see from Sean1997 post the 28-49 type designation actually gives you information that the car is in Master series (274 cid engine, 128" wheelbase) and should carry 7 passenger touring body from factory. You gave us an engine number, serial number should be on the same square plate on firewall. Should be 6 digits, most likely 142... something.
  15. To John: Yes, the standard catalogue indicates 2 made, but this counts for Flint (US) production. Seems to me that canadian counterparts were lot more frequent.
  16. Welcome aboard! Really interested in some pictures! Check this thread. http://forums.aaca.org/f165/1928-mclaughlin-prague-257454.html Josef from Prague.
  17. I am scared, just those days I am working on doors of 4 door limo and there is lot of to do.... This one has 8 doors..... :-)
  18. Could you possibly estimate the wheelbase based on the frame?
  19. Hi, unfortunately its missing the part that forms the (nickel plated) frame and as a such is difficult to (re)use...
  20. Hi, the 1928 Master Six carb is exactly the type I have linked on e-bay, the body has numbers 10-105 cast on it. I bet your carb body is OK, typically the fuel bowls made of pot metal are cracked, so you likely need to find a bronze one. I am attaching the picture of the riser, whole carb assembly, exhaust manifold and intake manifold for your reference. Be careful, this is for passenger Buick Master Six 1928, yours may be 1929 and the truck application can differ too, but unfortunately I am not very familiar with either... You may need to post at Buick forum, there is one guy with interchange part list, so he can tell if these 28 Master parts are same for 1929.
  21. ... or Russian survivor...
  22. This really is Buick Master Six engine with updraft Marvel carb. The intake and exhaust manifold look correct to the engine so with little bit luck you can find replacement for both and even the Marvel carb with bronze body (guess yours with craks is zinc /pot metal/ body) can be found. I cannot tell if this is 29 or 28 Master engine though.... For carb see eg. ebay item 280792954746. For intake manifold see eg. ebay item 110798325932 The exhaust manifolds are prone to crack when not bolted properly so they are more scarce. The vertical part part of intake has a sleeve insert inside that is frequently rusthed through so for proper function need to be reinserted. Josef
  23. Hi, can anybody positively ID this Hupp? Is this 1928 model? Thanks, Josef
  24. 1927/28 Master Six is 274 cid engine on 120" or 128" wheel base (few body styles) while 1927/28 Standard Six ("non Master") is 207 cid on 116" wheel base. If you have just a few pictures or bare chassis you can distinguish them by water return pipe - Master has a long pipe on the whole leght on left hand side of head, while STD has a short pipe from radiator to the front face of head. Master frame has a front tubular cross member that is missing on STD models. Hope this helps a bit. Mark is right, parts generally does not interchange between Standard and Master models. They are of the same or very close design but dimensionally differs.
  25. Phil, not sure if you noted, but the foot pad of your pedals are of totally different shape of what 28 pedals looked like, regardless they are LHD or RHD. Yours are rather square and vertical while typical shape is oval and horizontal with "catches" preventing foot slide off... Josef
