  1. Hi, I have seen this nice shield on 28-49 McLaughlin Buick in Spain. Does anybody know where it is placed on the vehicle? I would like to find this shield but will be very happy to get more clear picture with dimensions. Thanks for help, Josef
  2. Cannot help with this question sorry..., Are the tires also for sale? I guess they are not....
  3. This is actually 1928 Master frame - look at hydraulic shock absorbers and lowered central section of the frame. None of these existed in 1927 or earlier.
  4. I have found bearing for Black&Decker mower(?) with OD 1-55/64. ID is however 0.81" so I will try to make some sleeve for it. Seems this ID sleeve would be little bit thicker than OD sleeve would need to be, thus easier to make.
  5. Leif, thank you very much! Seems the bearing is really "special". Do you know the other dimensions of this bearing? Is there is any modern replacement available? Otherwise seems I have to make a sleeve into crankshaft to fit common 47mm bearing. Thanks again. Josef
  6. Hi, does anybody know what bearing to use as a replacement of New Departure 7204 suggested by part list (P/N 907204)? By measurement seems I can use metric 20x47x14, is that correct? Is thts actually angular contact bearing? Mine has very worn Fichtel&Sachs bearing that needs to be replaced... Any help or guidance appreciated. Josef
  7. ... now have two pipes 1238929 on hand, ready to ship in a week time..... Anybody interested?
  8. The axle surely looks Buick, must be 1927 or earlier. What puzzles me, is the wheel - this wire wheel looks like "dental drive" and has the central spring loaded locking feature; to my knowledge Buick did not use this system you would find on Cadillacs or another cars. The ASH / BUFFALO wheel Leif posted (and Buick offered as option) is the "pin drive"; on some types pins went through, on some types were hidden. They locked the main nut by mean of smaller nut with opposite thread.
  9. Agree with Hanski. German VDO speedo says "..AGA", German VDO clock says "...GA".
  10. Guys, sorry for delay in response, being busy at work / working for American company, sounds familiar? ;-) So, we have started 4 pipes to fit 8 cylinder Buick per attached picture (1238929). The information was taken from Master Part list, so I assume the application is correct. Expected delivery end of June give or take few days. Priced at USD 425 delivered. Payment / other arrangements via e-mail on pepcak@volny.cz. Other models (1230416; 1239032 and 4 legged pipe for 1928 Master) can be supplied.
  11. Guys, let me talk to the shop during next week run, the jigs should still be there....... I will update here.
  12. Thanks for all the responses. I understand all the reasons about significantly lighter Al pistons (I have some Al pistons of 3.5" size that are at 547 grams vs 911 grams of the original piece). I still think that using iron ones will keep the car closer to original spec with "stock" (?poor?) behavior & performace. From what I found on internet the pin offset helps to reduce load on cylinder wall during the expansion period of the cycle and reduces noise / slap. Possibly not a big deal on 2k rpm engines and possibly even less with Alu pistons.
  13. I just want to keep things stock, do not want to elaborate much with re-balancing the whole thing and with piston / cylinder clearances.
  14. Restoring 28 Master Six I have find out that cylinders are quite out of round (shop manual specifies 0.002, mines are at about 0.01. Thinking about bore it straight and use oversized pistons. I want to go with cast iron pistons but have difficulty to find suitable replacement. Those from Chevrolet Master appear to fit but the piston pin has no offset while Buick ones have 3/32". Two questions 1) Is it a real issue to use pistons with no offset while originally an offset is specified? 2) Any chance to find cast iron pistons with exact 1928 Buick Master spec? (3 1/2" / 0.01 to 0.03 O/S; comp. height 2 3/16"; pin 7/8"; pin offset 3/32"). Bare castings OK, I can have them machined. Any help appreciated. Josef
  15. This guy offers complete clutch assy for 1928 STD model. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1928-Buick-Sedan-Straight-6-Six-Manual-Transmission-Clutch-Used-Looks-Good-25598-/141771028674 Worth to seek for 1927 Shop manual with 1928 Supplement. I can possibly scan few pages with clutch adjustment.
  16. Hi, I am in need of textite timing gear for 1928 Master Six. NOS or very good condition only. Thanks for any offer. Josef
  17. While I am not in Germany, Switzerland or France, I face the same issues.... Ask you american counterparts to provide invoices for low value, so you can reduce or completely avoid that @#$^%$#@! VAT thing; when the custom guys see pieces of junk metal, they usually do not investigate much (the private sellers are usually helpful, "official stores" not that much); photoshopping invoices also helped few times...;-) Other than that, carrying stuff as a "personal belonging" with your or somebody elses flight helps as you mentioned - why it should be funny? Friend of mine brought me a complete exhaust system and except fact it was held by security for two weeks and investigated for suspicion of being part of weapon system it worked well. I also know there are agencies in US consolidating small parcels into SEA freight containers if you are not in hurry and can allow 6-8 weeks for SEA freight shipping.
  18. Does anybody here know correct make/type of 6v starter motor for Essex Super Six of late 20s? Some for sale? Thanks, Josef
  19. Want to buy cowl light for 1928 Master or restorable bezel only, 3" OD. Thanks, Josef
  20. Yes, A5 will fit 1928 Master Six Buick with 21" wire wheels. They are also known as "ASH" wheels and believe they were used from approx. 1924. I think they were available in A5 and A4 size. This piece only secures the wheel nut in place. The interchangeable / riveted brand plate suggets that also other car makers used it, but I have never seen any other than Buick. Check also this thread http://forums.aaca.org/f165/few-1927-parts-sale-364883.html. Josef
