  1. Joe, I was given a new gal. can of "Zink Enriched Primer" that came from a Railroad Car restoration shop that was used on all new chassis castings. It has excellent filling quality's as the consistently is heavier that most primers. When you sand blast that axle you'll find its full of pin size holes if its like my 1910 Mitchell. It brushes out like satin and drys very fast!! In warm climate its dry to the touch in 20 mins or less! It sands well if you get a sag. I loved it for chassis parts like springs, axles, ect as its drys fast and applies smooth .Of coarse its claim to fame is excellant rust protection and filling qualities. Google it! Mike
  2. Sounds like GREAT opportunity here!
  3. I think the 28 LaSalle is a better looker than a 28 Caddy.
  4. Exactly, Put your big boy pants on and post a price. He is most likely fishing..Its a neat car but not a huge dollar car.
  5. Looks like a old brown shoe to me with a generous application of mink oil applied.
  6. Jo what size pipe thread is under that square flange?
  7. I bought a case of these deep voice grips. They work great on these oversize 700 19 tires. I'll look and measure them up or see if they have a model #.
  8. ED - Series 80 P/A cars are all too anemic for most drivers . They are ok for a memorial day parade but short of that ....
  9. The color is Studebaker BLACK CHERRY 1950 s era. The modern paint suppliers dont have a problem finding the mix.
  10. I used a Ford Model a deluxe pickup that only 300 were made as my model. My friend owned this rare truck for over 30 years .
  11. Thank you, It was made over from a cutoff 7 pass sedan. It has a Packard Overdrive tat works great. She runs 65 on the expressway with no effort.
  12. Benz Guy , I would drag it home. You might open it up and find it full of grease and OK. Franklins used Warner Gear boxes and they are all in good demand. Im in NY or Id ask for it. You have nothing to loose> It is Warner Gear .
  13. My first planned outing in a Franklin this season and had to take a tire⁹ apart . I've got 700/19 tires on the truck and I hate them. They are too big for the rims. I had to clamp the tire down to get the ring on working alone. I'm ordering a new set of Deman 650/ 19s this week. Other that the tire problem all went well.
  14. Jon, I have no idea . My grandson is building up a speedster and he could use it. Do you also have the steering gear box? If you decide to sell it , I would buy it if you can ship to upstate NY. MIKE 585 738 1541
  15. Is the glass cracked? Like at 8oclock? Does it turn and the needle go up? Mike
  16. I dont think any of them are correct. I have handles that are. I'll send pictures. Mike
  17. Nothing rare here.... Parts cars . They both need complete restorations at a cost of 5 times you can drive a good running driving car . If I get them , they will be available in parts and make lots of Franklin owners happy. The 31 does look like the plum in the crowd.
  18. Laura, It looks like a great start and good workmanship! I hope you find it a new home. Mike
