  1. When I was in the parking lot there didn't seem to be any acquaintances who would join me so the bottle remained sealed. It will likely remain that way for easier travel and the border crossing. And yes we will go with the medication alcohol mix reasoning.
  2. First the rum, then the mug...not necessarily a good year for you there. Did you at least get a look at the '55 Century Estate Wagon for sale? I thought it was pretty cool. At least with Lamar not making it, we didn't have a big puddle of drool around the archival class Roadmaster two door hardtop for sale. Red tights...my eyes!
  3. I kind of like the halo effect for Fr. Buick  It was fun with old friends and new. There were probably more new faces there this year than we've had since the first one. The only down side it could note that the background music / TVs / noise made it difficult to converse. A good time. Mike opened a second gift, one which was lighter and easier to carry with a bad back. Lamar has previously said that I stole a car...now Mike is calling me a thief too.
  4. Ditto. I had the chance to meet Ed in Portland and can't say anything negative about him. I was impressed with how he conducted himself at the general meeting and what he had to say about addressing challenges facing the club. bring on the Brian & Brian show.
  5. With the grill of Thriller's Century Estate Wagon seen through the open maw of Fr. Buick's hood. Imperial62 - for me, I don't have the correct setup here to post our best photos until we get home. I will make an attempt when I can.
  6. If I remember correctly, that is a McLaughlin-Buick, so if there were only 68 built in the USA, there were probably just a handful of these. My comments are based on memory (potentially foggy) of the grill badge. It it is very attention-grabbing.
  7. Good to hear JD. See you again soon at brunch.
  8. Good to see you made it and have the Electra. I'm looking forward to seeing you and the new toy.
  9. I'm in, at least until the judging school starts. I don't need to take my "gift" back home....
  10. Made it. Found Paul...of course that meant him creating a traffic jam around the hotels. Free beer every night here at the Oxford...that's two nights in a row with local ambers (last night was Lake Missoula and tonight's was something I'll probably have again tomorrow). I'm not sure I was happy about driving I84 today, although when we leave Sunday morning the traffic patterns will be different. You know you've been around when you can't even check into the hotel without someone saying hello. It's good to be here with Buickful friends.
  11. Getting failure to upload files...sigh...they are on the big side. Oh well, perhaps once I get home I can resize and then get them up. I'm not quite set up like I used to be...out of practice or something.
  12. Thanks Dave. So far so good. Silly that I was attempting to post photos from an iPad when the photos were downloaded to a computer. One shot is from the Painted Canyon Visitor Center of Theodore Roosevelt National Park in western ND, where we started yesterday.
  13. Over 1000 km today to get to Missoula, MT. It was late getting in. Ruby had three pilots today with Luke getting his first taste of Interstate driving. A couple hairy moments with grades and trailer and semis but kept the shiny side up and wrinkle-free. Teresa will have a couple photos for me shortly.
  14. It varies. Some folks put on their Sunday best. Others are more casual. It would be nice to be a bit nicer, but some years it has been long enough that you want to be comfortable.
  15. Oh yeah...after supper in Bismarck, Mr. Earl's CD of Buick music went into the player and we had fun in the truck...don't know about the Rainier.
  16. We got away later this morning than I would have liked. Others on the road are getting better fuel economy than Max. Ruby gets to fill about half as often. We are in Belfield, ND. Second drink free in the lounge so I don't want to type too long. Heartland Hooligans - the Willamette Valley has wineries and wine tasting rooms. Near Amity there is a monastery that makes fantastic fudge...it's a cool place. More driving tomorrow to Missoula, then to Portland on Tuesday.
  17. See you Thursday the Mike. We are on tour that day so won't see you until later that day at earliest. Take care of yourself.
  18. Whimper. This is a body style I really like mad want to have some day. I hope it finds a good home (I'd have difficulty acquiring it and living to tell once She Who Must Be Obeyed found out about it). There are too many projects around here. Oh well.
  19. Looking forward to meeting you Monseigneur.
  20. Uh oh. At least Suzanne will know where to find me. So much for a weight loss program.
  21. Taking your time, or getting there early? We leave Sunday morning with a late Tuesday arrival. Of course, we are driving modern, so that may help. See you soon!
  22. Too many things to pick just one. I might come closest to agreeing with Paul about the Buick friends. I like the carb / accelerator start, the styling cues, the smooth power, the nice ride, and the ability to have something distinctive. The Wildcat was my first Buick and the neat thing for me was that it was unique. Perhaps after the National I will have to swap the '54 and it to do some driving with it this year.
  23. Well, I don't have the '54 knowledge of our dear Mr. Earl, but this morning I got the 54-69 loaded in the trailer to depart Sunday. I hope that will help you make do
  24. Was the toast at the A&W lost or just geographically challenged? Neat thread.
