  1. One more thought hit me about these keys - in 1924 the same key unlocked the ignition switch, the transmission lock, and a tool compartment in the drivers door - changing one lock out would have done no good which is why i went thru the trouble with the key at that time.

  4. Sorry - I was away for a bit. I went thru all of my keys and here is what I could find: For Miller locks: (2) numbered ST838 - one is not script; For Yale Junior locks: ST239, ST240, and S1172 And I also have one Rockne scpipted key for a Yale Junior lock numbered S1082

Good luck searching, but I've been collecting for nearly 40 years and have never seen one from Kelsey - another reason I feel the emblem above was produced by Harry Pulfer, but I've been dead wrong many times before... I have to admit that you have an unusual project there, and hope you have luck getting it back to it's original glory.
  6. I'll have to stop and find out the price, but there is one in a used tool shop near here that is most likely under $15.00 - add in shipping and you are looking at around $20.00 tops Let me know and I'll find the price for you.
  7. It is very hard to tell if the emblem is a repro or not without a picture of the rear, but the red does not look right to me and I will venture it was one of Pulfer's creations. That being said, his work was usually based on original pieces and was fairly accurate. Karla Maxwell took photographs and measurements of one of my emblems and created the nicest reproduction I've ever seen for a client of hers. Her phone number (from 2007) is 760-941-1966. So, if you are looking to have that emblem reproduced and the owner is not against giving you high resolution photographs and measurements, this photograph is to show you the quality of her work. Yes, this is a reproduction and it is perfect in every way as compared to the original in my collection! Good luck!
  8. The T lamp also has a ridge around the face - it is not T, but could be early 30's...
  9. The olds looks like a crank holse cover - the Oakland is from 1928 if memory is OK today. Too bad he took them off with a screwdriver...
  10. Wells Maine Auto Museum? Looks like one there our T club had a field day with - you can see where the block was cut & re-stitched together - it was done well but the work done on the head was only fair. Still love to drive it just for kicks...

  13. Yes, the number I had referred to in another post was the number imprinted or stamped on the face of the tumbler. When I had my Studebaker I somehow managed to find a handfull of keys before finding original keys that were the correct number - two of which I machined down & silver-soldered the working end of a modern key so I had a scripted one in the dash. The difference there was that the key in the 24 locked the switch in the off position - and was not an ignition key as one would presume. Post the number on your lock and I'll see what i have for keys.
  14. I know this would have fit my 1924 Studebaker Special Six, and I'm also sure it fit many others. I had paid a little over $100.00 for a NOS one when I had the car - that was from one of the specialist vendors at Hershey and over 10 years ago.

  17. Studebaker without doubt - I'm pretty sure the body line is the light 6 series, but the lights in the windshield frame lower mount was also on the special & big 6 cars up to 24
  18. Big Six Studebaker, not 100% sure on the year, but 1922-24 seems to be the right years.

  20. Here are a few from my collection. A couple were meant to be humorous, the calendar plate seems late to have a car related theme. There is also a change plate in the shape of a chauffeurs hat and a toothpick holder, plus 6 plates from a series "Les Sports" where plate #10 is the automobile. If anyone knows what plate numbers 1, 3, 4, 8, 9, and any #12 and above for this set are I'd appreciate knowing that information.
  21. I'm quite sure it is a repro, as well as most of what that seller is offering. Harry Pulfer made very good reproductions, but you can tell the difference if you know what you are looking at.
  22. American Austin had a stamped bar with a pointed down area in the center - they used Parabeam lamps, and another brand I can't remember but it was not Depress beam.
  23. A Speedwell cap sold on e-bay about 3 years ago for SERIOUS money - I would think a good reproduction could be had for less than what was spent. If you are interested, I have one of the emblems that may be the same size as a hubcap and Karla Maxwell could reproduce them for you from a good photograph and dimensions of it. She did a reproduction of a Chalmers-Detroit for someone this way a few years ago that was outstanding work.
