  1. Just finished the annual cleaning/detailing of my daily driver, 1991 Miata. Last item on checklist is oil + filter change. Then, back to the main garage for its’ winter nap.
  2. Kudos to the seller for doing the basic things necessary to sell a car. I don’t care if it’s a flip. I get tired of the cars posted on this forum that come from Craigslist, FB or wherever that are dusty, dirty, with junk piled inside the car. Some sellers are just plain lazy!
  3. My experience in Cuba was that most of the cars in Havana appear to be convertibles are actually sedans with the roof cut off. Most of them are in Havana where the main tourism is. We spent a lot of time in the rural areas and there were some older sedans. Also seemed to be a lot of Russian Ladas.
  4. Back in 1963 Clark gas stations in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul were giving away a brand new 1963 Chevrolet every week during the summer. My uncle, who was 22 at the time, won a four-door Impala sport sedan with a six cylinder and powerglide. Not exactly the type of car a person this age would like. He traded it in on a brand new 1964 Corvette. When he got new license plates in 1965 he gave me the ones that came in his new Corvette and I still have them.
  5. Fun story……very well written! I recall this magazine cover from just over a year ago. Thank You!
  6. @JACK M There is a fellow in the Twin Cities who has a NY’er business coupe like yours….flat black, black tires and ‘60 Buick hubcaps. A good look!
  7. @Fossil Egad! Last seen, it was sporting a purple paint job, chopped top and a 350 Chev…..ugh!🤮 Here it is the day I bought it. Sold the Western Bullit wheels and reinstalled the stockers I received with the car.
  8. @Hudsy Wudsy I had a chance to buy a ‘48 Kaiser with 3K actual miles from the estate of a retired K-F dealer in Bayport MN about 1990. Asking was $5000! My 1946 Dodge had collector plate # 600025…..very early!
  9. C’mon Terry…..you know that with all Model A’s and T’s, if they do not “mark their territory “, they are out of oil !! 😂
  10. G.A. Meyer Mercantile was a long time fixture in the farm town era of Lake Elmo MN. Around 1973 the building burned down. At that time I was in college and working part time as a substitute rural letter carrier in town. The day after the fire myself and a coworker walked around the burn site and I found these two papers. No more. Old timers around town told me that Meyer sold cars years ago. I never researched the company and its history. I should do that!
  11. Pretty car…..much better car than the ‘59 DeSoto shown elsewhere on this forum. Two door, four door, doesn’t matter to me, both look the same from behind the wheel!
  12. Another car for sale near me that I had no clue existed. If anyone has more interest I can check it out for you.
  13. @34LaSalleClubSedan sure you are aware of this website….https://www.prewarcar.com Lots of good video there.
  14. Driving season for my Model T Runabout is over now, time to make a much needed repair and to prepare the car for it’s winter nap. The handbrake quadrant was not holding very well so an inspection was undertaken. As one can see the is not much for teeth left so a call to a nearby parts house resulted in a new one. Grinding off the rivets of the old one proved to be a challenge in the cramped quarters. Installing the new one may be to difficult so perhaps hardened bolts would be better. As for the handbrake mechanism…..it is very crusty so time for a total refreshing. As any Model T owner knows, nothing under a Model T stays very clean. As for the floor….ugh!
  15. I would pay TWO mill for any one of those four cars……one can only dream! (One of the Tourist models went for 1.6M)
  16. I would pay a Mill for one of the Deemer family American Underslung cars…..if I had the Mill !!
  17. I love the cars from the immediate pre and the immediate post war era cars. Fortunately I own one that I love or I would certainly check this one out. Go for it @ericmac!
