  1. All '69 Cutlass/F-85/442 fenders are the same, with only variations of the trim. Henry
  2. '67/'68/'69 console with auto transmission are the same, with exception of removable insert for 2 spd automatic or 3spd automatic. If you are asking about a standard 3 or 4 speed transmission they are basically the same '64-'69 with just a couple of minor variations. Henry
  3. Check with Mark at 512-303-0833 in Tx. He has a motor mount system from a '66 Skylark GS along with 30 plus '64-'67 Skylark/Special/GS parts cars. Henry
  4. Lock cover has been sold. Thanks, Henry.
  5. I have near a perfect fender and front bumper for 200 each, have a rough/usable/repairable fender and dented front bumper for 50 each. Henry in Austin, Tx.
  6. I just bought a '72 Skylark Custom 2dr hdtp with a good front clip. This is a complete car less raditor and carb. Police pound sale car and it can not be retitled or licensed. Has the diecast metal grille and a recently rechromed bumper. Bumper is missing the rubber impact strip. Take $550 for complete front end (fenders/hood/grille/bumper/etc). Rear bumper recent rechrome with nice rubber impact strips, usable taillights and all brackets for $200. Good left rear quarter cut off anyway you want it for 250, has some rust through under vinyl top. Local pickup only in Austin, Tx. Henry
  7. Have a complete '69 GS trunk lock/cover that was removed from a wrecked TX GS in 1972. Perfect chrome, paint should be redone. Comes with lock cylinder and 1 original key. $200 postpaid. Henry.
  8. Have a pair of '69 Stage 1 hood nameplates. These were removed from a wrecked Tx car in 1972 so chrome is bright and shiney. Accent paint needs to be redone. $105.00 postpaid.
  9. Hi, Don't know where you are located but if you can pick it up in Austin, Tx I have a good used one that I'll cut off the car anyway you want it for $200.00 Henry
  10. 66-67 Cutlass uses a crossflow radiator with a plastic shroud while the '65 Cutlass has a downflow radiator and uses a metal fan shroud. Henry
  11. You can make a good guess if engine is proper by the casting date code on the block and the engine unit number stamped on the cylinder head. Then compare with the car's build date. I've researched 6 '66 442's and patterns can be established. While not 100% foolproof you can be pretty sure about. Henry
  12. You would have to be extremly unlucky to shatter the back glass. The cars from that era have very thick tempered glass, also the sealer that holds it in place is likely to be dried out making in even easier to remove. From the 1980's glass became thinner and better adhesives were developed which makes a later model car riskier. Henry
  13. Those are poor quality aftermarket replacment wheels covers that would had been produced when the '56 was a current car. You'll find that the chrome is thin and they begin to rust within a year of being placed in use(at least for a daily driver back then).
  14. Try calling Mark at 512-303-0833 in Texas. He's parting out around 30 64-67 Skylarks/Specials/GS's and I know he has at least 2 '65 Special 4drs. Henry.
  15. The '61 used a custom tail light assembly, it's a triangle shape recessed in the end of the quarter panels. Maybe it was sourced from a '61 Buick Special??? The use of a front bumper on the rear may had been dictated by the placment of the rear opening ambulance door??? Henry.
  16. Something interesting to me is that for the conversion they made use of a '61 Buick front bumper as a rear bumper. Henry
  17. The 14 x 6" SSII wheels were available on all '68-'69 F-85/Cutlass and 442 hdtps/converts and sedans. One way to determine if they are factory installed wheels is to look in the trunk and see if the lug wrench has two spring clips to hold it in place on the horizontal ledge of the trunk near the right side tail light. Non SS wheel cars located the lug wrench under the spare tire thus no storage clips for the lug wrench. Henry
  18. Ironic! It was palaced on eBay and only 2 peple placed bids on it, reached $360.00 without meeting reserve. Should had taken his quick sale when he had interested buyers here. Henry
  19. Call Mark in Tx., he's parting out 30 '64-'67 Skylark and Specials including 2 '64 and 2 '65 converts and a complete '67 GS convert. 512-303-0833 Henry
  20. Location? If you are close to Austin, Tx. I have access to two '61 Oldsmobile with good front end parts. Henry
  21. Hoods are the same but trunk lid is completly different. Henry
  22. I'm in Austin, Tx. and have a complete top from a '72 SunCoupe cut off at the dash and below the rear quarter windows and includes the filler panel between back glass and trunk lid. No rust in top panel. I'd take $200.00 for it. Henry.
  23. SAVE THIS CAR! (please) A Buick police car is worth making an effort to save! It's an almost unheard of brand to have been a police car. Do you know what agency originally purchased the car? Some agencies may have purchased a ordinary retail car for their use. Does it have a certified speedometer? Police package cars commonly have a heavier duty transmission internals, higher number rear ratios, HD cooling systems, larger rear brakes, HD shocks and springs. This may not be true of this 73 Buick as I do not have a knowledge on this car. If its a true Buick police package car its most likely worth restoring regardless of current condition. After looking for a '60's to early '70's GM police car of some sort last year I finaly located and paid dearly for an ex CPH 67 Olds 88 police car to restore. Finding parts to restore this unit such as sheet metal (except hoods), glass etc is easy to aquire for '73 Le Sabres 4 dr sedans there's not a lot of demand for it. Henry
  24. My Dad purchased a new '87 Caprice Classic LS had it for about 6 months and one evening made a rare night time trip. As he was leaving the garage the left front headlight did not come on, so back in the garage and into the other car. The next day he started to check out the headlight and noticed wire hanging loose. More investigation showed the left bumper shock and been pushed in. By the time he fully checked things out it was apparent that the left fender, hood, headlight, header panel and radiator had been replace with the core support and inner fender receiving hammer work. He had never been informed that the car was wrecked and would not had purchased it if he had been. He later found out that a salesman had wrecked the car when taking it across the street from another lot. Talking to dealership he was told to leave the car and they would correct repairs to his satisfaction. He replied that he could never be satisfied with it being repaired as it was a new car purchase. Also if they had a quality repair to begin with he would had never know that it was wrecked. They later offered a rebate off the purchase price. Within a couple of months they were offering to take the car back and refund purchase price(spring of 88)but that still would not correct any thing as his trade in was long gone(76 Caprice 40,000 always garaged miles). By May '88 the dealer order an equivalate '89 Caprice Classic LS to replace the '87 Caprice at no cost to my Dad. When it came in Oct 89 he simply drove the 87 to dealership did the title work and drove the '89 away. The next week the '87 was now a front line used car at the dealership. My Dad is retired and devoted a lot of time to resolving this in this fashion. Even with good quality repair work your paint work will eventually age at a different level. Henry
