Call Mark at 512-303-0833 in Texas. He has over 30 64-67 Skylark/Special/GS parts and project cars including at least one complete running '65 2dr post Skylark. Henry
You will have to find a '67-'70 69 full size Buick car or Riviera as an OEM donor. '69 and '70 would be the best choice as the '67-'68 have dual piston caliphers that are quite obsolete. '71 and newer are not interchangable. Henry
The disc brake system from 69 and 70 88/98s will work. I believe the control arms are the same regardless from 65-70. '67-'68 88's also had a disc brake option but the were of the dual piston calipher style and best to stay away from. You will also have to change to 15 inch wheels for clearence along with adding the dual master cylinder system. Henry
Sad to say but the '66 parts are completly different. Where are you located? If you are close to Tx I think I can help you find some parts. I purchased an exCHP '67 Delmont 88 police car last year so I've been keeping both eyes open looking for extra parts around here. Henry
There's a major problem with using a '68 front clip on a '67. The '67 has exposed windshield wipers, a short hood with a filler panel between the hood and windshield while '68 went to a longer hood minus the filler panel to conceal the wiper system. Henry
What's your location? If your close to Austin, Tx. I can lead you to one, if you want just a fender or the whole car. 88/98 fenders are completly different. Henry
I have a salvage '66 Toro about 98% complete but very rough. I'll check it for floor rust. Also have 5 decent factory chrome wheels for a '66 Toro. Henry
Is that number stamped or cast in the block? If its a cast in number it just signifies the day the block was cast, not the date of engine assembly. So it would seem reasonable that there would be a time span between the casting date of the block and the final assembly of the complete car. Remember the end of the year has a lot of holidays to slow production down(Thanksgiving/Christmas/NewYears). Henry
