  1. I hope that’s true. It looks like the front end paint doesn’t quite match the doors, so it may have seen some damage. It’s a cool car and one you rarely see. I am glad it exists
  2. Hmmm. My answer is “it depends.” Mostly it depends on a given point in time. I drive my collector cars thousands of miles per year. Stuff wears out or breaks. I fix it. Repeat. No different than my newer “winter” car. Or my bicycles. There’s always multiple improvements I want to make. So I guess they are never fully sorted. My ‘64 Lincoln will get a lot of love this winter. Although I wouldn’t be afraid to get in and drive it at the moment (and I’m tempted because it’s 52F outside right now), it has some needs. Mostly mechanical, some cosmetic. Some I have admittedly lived with for too long, like the neutral safety switch and the slow right rear window. Others are more recent. I will be driving it again in the spring, even if I don’t knock every item off my ToDo list.
  3. I will ask my kids. They have ridden many miles in the back of my ‘64 Lincoln, and always seem to be grinning. Even in their 20s they still seem to enjoy it.
  4. I was waiting for this car to show up with the new owner. You beat me to the purchase and I was very bummed that I missed out. Glad to hear it is nearby - maybe I’ll get to see it around. Enjoy it!
  5. Looks like Saturday is your chance! 52F forecast in CT. But be careful - this morning I saw the salt/sand mix all over the roads. My cars will now probably stay in the garage until spring. Unless we get some rain to clean that salt away.
  6. Funny how things that were once common are now aberrations. My sister had a low mileage, bare bones ‘77 Nova four door with the column shift. She could free up that linkage before the light turned green. 😀 One thing I learned the hard way - if you have a column shift you want to make sure the parking brake works. Otherwise you can’t move the linkage, and if you do manage it the car is going to roll away.
  7. When I first saw the year as 1962 and the V-12, I pictured some kind of custom with a BMW engine. I’m glad to see that I was wrong. Asking price equivalent to about $15k US. Could be a fun project. I’ve seen worse ones advertised for more money.
  8. Wait - I thought the chicks dig guys who know how to get out of the car, open the hood, and fix the jammed up shift mechanism?
  9. Now that is a unicorn! Dually, A/C, and it is one of the most rust-free Internationals I’ve ever seen. I think it’s a pretty small market but for the right buyer this is very cool.
  10. Crosleys came with four cylinder water cooled engines. Originally a brazed sheet metal engine (“CoBra” for Copper Brazed) then a more typical cast iron one.
  11. Ouch. Interesting rear door - I assume that was added by someone, not something available from the factory?
  12. Some funny typos in that ad! In my youth I was a bit of a pint and body man myself. Seller comes across as a bit of a… This could be interesting. But right now it’s just an expensive shelf. It looks like someone put some effort and skill into it. If I were nearby I’d check it out, just out of curiosity.
  13. I like the car. The ad quality and price, not so much. This could be a fun project and a great car at the end. I actually like these kinds of unfinished projects. Better than paying for someone else’s shoddy work that might be hiding under shiny paint etc. But only if they are priced right - and by that I mean very low. There’s a ton of work, there will be missing parts, and you have to assume that everything needs to be done. Even stuff that the seller will claim is already “new” or “rebuilt”.
  14. I have always preferred the 1960 Cadillac over the 1959. Still extravagant but a little cleaner to my eye. It helps that they are a little lower value than the 1959s. This one looks super nice. I’m skeptical of the low mileage, but maybe the seller has some evidence to back that up. The price seems high to me but that’s true of most everything these day. Stupid seller logic. “My car is overpriced so I’ll spend more money on it and raise the price even more.” 🤔
  15. Not something I’m looking for but I kinda wish I were. This seems like a good car at a good price. There are a few more pics in the ad, and a video. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1817004988818017 Lowering price on this gal . 1920 Dodge bros touring convertible. Runs drives needs some tlc . Rebuilt engine about 8 yrs ago very little mileage. New clutch and tires. Lots of extra small parts. $ 10000.00 delivered in tri state area. $9500.00 picked up . Out of room . Been inside for practically whole life.
  16. Cool car. Although it’s not really a car anymore. It’s static art - who is going to risk that kind of money on the road or at a track?
  17. Well, you never know who is in the next field:
  18. I like it, but is there something going on with the seats? On my phone screen they look like modern replacements?
  19. 😂 Except kit-cars, most of which have never been, and never will be, together.
  20. Yes, Engel’s intent was diluted as the years progressed. Although I think the grille treatment got better in ‘62. Flat side windows in ‘64 to save a few bucks, the ‘65 front end got busier, and significant changes in ‘66 (more Ford like as you noted) makes them look heavier to me. I like the longer wheelbase that started in ‘64. More rear seat legroom.
