  1. Great to see an action pic! It’s really fun carving apex’s up mountain roads in whatever!!! Cool pic
  2. Truth! A daily/work vehicle that can take a door ding at the grocery or hardware store without worry is a big relief!
  3. Perhaps someone from the hotrod side of things will see something they’ve never known about in regards to original senior cars? I myself have mainly attended street rod, muscle car and racing events. I’ve found that there’s an entire world of amazing cars that are now orphaned brands. Now to be different, is to be original in my opinion. Everyone has seen a hopped up whatever with a SBC or LS in the engine bay. I’ve become a huge fan of cars from 1935 and prior and love all the different designs and engineering. Several things I didn’t even know existed before joining this forum. I didn’t know how interested I’d be until I learned more about them. Hopefully someone from the Hotrod crowd will find something new to them that’ll drive their car passion in a different direction? After talking with some members here I’ve realized a relaxing pace of a senior car tour better fits where I’m at in life rather than a drag race. I just hope no hot rod guys get stupid with burnouts and ruin things for others.
  4. That’s a Campbell’s Can chambered exhaust setup. I’ve seen the less durable aluminum Miller Can setups before.
  5. I’m really missing out on many cool car events. Work, family, blah blah blah. Glad I can at least see some pics and videos of these great cars and fun here on the forum. Thanks for sharing!!!
  6. That’s really unfair for people buying new cars and paying insurance!! We’re facing repair supply shortages here in the Diesel engine world too. Something as small as head bolt repair sleeves aren’t available globally for 3400 and 3500 Cat engines. Considering a 3516 has 128 head bolt holes by itself, fabricating these repair items can really cause huge delays and added expense. I’m hoping for a change soon.
  7. Sorry about both of your dogs Ed. I still haven’t had the heart to get another after losing mine. That’s really a tough deal. Best wishes to you and the wife.
  8. The fact I can log in here and access so many knowledgeable people is amazing. I’m hoping younger people capitalize on this resource. Being a gen X guy I’m really trying to drum up interest in the older cars with younger people. This forum gives access to different generations. I’ve worked hard at knowing 55-87 American cars. Cars of the nickel age and earlier are still mystifying. This forum is the resource for anyone interested. Anyone that feels like sharing will be a huge influence in someone’s life
  9. When I was a teenager it was considered redneck and mindless to work on cars. I’d challenge many educated folks to try lining brake shoes. Nothing but mindless tractor mechanics obviously
  10. A few years in and I’m still impressed at the connections made here. I’ve learned that willingness to learn can still be met by kind mentors.
  11. Sounding like a good time. Have fun everyone!
  12. Great pic!!! That’s an era that defined style and elegance. Way better than the plastic modern cars and plastic people of today!
  13. I’ve used them a lot! The CAD dimension page and specific information available particularly for special fasteners is fantastic! Great resource for many items in my opinion. Glad you could source your material and can get the Buick back together!
  14. Cool topic! I’ll search for my oldest pic!
  15. That’s so unbelievable how these vehicles transcend time. Even more unbelievable is people know them on sight!
  16. Super cool snapshot of style! Timeless style that people try to duplicate today
  17. That’s a product I’ve not had experience with. We regularly use Belzona within CAT industrial engines with great success. I’ve actually applied it to a sending unit on my 62 Impala and even the constant immersion in ethanol gas hasn’t phased it. Wish I had a comparison for you but I only have any experience with Belzona
