  1. Can’t help but wonder if the person who did all the work on this car didn’t think he had access to another grille before they started.
  2. The 4spd transmission makes me wonder is this a 1/2 or 3/4 ton?
  3. I'd have to have something like this or I'd never make it out of the yard.
  4. I think it's worth posting. I like these studebakers especially the Hawk series. I don't know much about them but would prefer these over the tri 5's.
  5. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1146770539676225/?ref=browse_tab&referral_code=marketplace_top_picks&referral_story_type=top_picks Driven 999,999 miles Manual transmission Exterior color: White · Interior color: Fuel type: Gasoline This vehicle is paid off Seller's Description Car was manufactured at the end of 1948 but is titled as a 1949 Dodge D24. 3 speed on the column fluid drive transmission. Runs and drives great. Leaks some oil and the passenger door windows are cracked (replacement glass is available just never pursued it). But overall in great shape. No trades. Taylor Ridge, IL
  6. These are suppose to be unibody construction but the rail by the muffler sure looks abused to me. Not only on the bottom but the top also. Price seems excessive also.
  7. Rock solid cars in their day. The crankshafts were the weak point in the engines but driven sensibly they would go forever. Wannabe 48' Ford.
  8. I have a place close to my heart for these station wagons. Spent many of my teen years riding in one. Hate to think how many times I cranked that rear window up and down. By the way the knob is missing off the crank on this one. Being over 6' tall I felt like I had a lot more room in the back seat on the wagon than in the sedan we had before it. Probably just an illusion.
  9. This is good news. Several years ago when looking for a car I almost pulled the trigger on a car the previous owners had listed. Thankfully I ran into some reviews from prior customers that were less than flattering so never completed the transaction. It's nice to hear your taking things in the right direction. Wishing you the best.
  10. Lives in NY and no rust. That's quite an accomplishment. These were a reliable car and very frugal on gas if I remember correctly.
  11. This would be worth fixing up and driving. Sure hope someone doesn't rod it.
  12. Seems to me that the final bid was a fair offer.
  13. My Cousin bought a new 57 Chev. hardtop. It was white with red interior. I asked him about the car and he said it had more rattles than anything he'd owned. Said he had to stick little pieces of matchbook covers under nearly all the chrome trim on the dash to quiet things down. He's still driving GM's though. I'll take the 57 Ford thank you very much.

Car had 14,849 miles on it when purchased. Can drive it anywhere without a worry. 2nd owner total restored, runs very well, new exhaust, tires might have 2000 miles on them, no tears, no rust. 14,000OBO Madison, WI
  15. The bubble top makes these cars. Stick that top on a 50 Nash and you’d have a nice looking car.
  16. There are some really nice shades of green but this doesn’t appear to be one of them. Clashes with black trim. Otherwise it looks nice.
  17. Surprisingly doesn't appear to be all rust out. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/353010394283805?ref=browse_tab&referral_code=marketplace_top_picks&referral_story_type=top_picks Driven 30,000 miles Manual transmission Exterior color: Red · Interior color: Red Fuel type: Gasoline Seller's Description Make a offer a lot of good parts everything is there. 4x4 4 cylinder
  18. I've had types 1,2,&4. No Karmann Ghia's. The type 4's were a neat car but the Karmann Ghia was one that I would have liked to have had. Would have to look the body over real closely before committing myself to this one. On the surface it looks pretty good.
  19. If you can't get in it you could always wear it.
  20. I'd like to see more photos of the Falcon hardtop in the background.
