1964 Triumph TR4 $7,500

Why? Lucas always gets a bad rap but I’ve never heard why. -
I think he inherited it but never wanted it. Maybe, big maybe, drove it occasionally but other than that it sat in the garage. Now, his parent that a child of the grandma has passed and now he can sell it, or has the blessing from mom or dad to do so. My grandmother gave me a 1973 Olds Omega 2 door with a 6 banger! I love the car because of that white bucket seat console interior. But I suspect it will need at least a tune up.
-
And here we see evidence of that with a massive price drop. That alone will cause me to not be interested. Greedy sellers suck in my opinion. Price it more reasonably, say $22,000 or so, and I have no issues. That badly painted undercarriage is an indicator of the quality or lack of, that you are getting. I know this seller - he is east of Iowa City, on the south side of I80, up on a hill. He was nice when I met him, but again, he is trying to make $20,000 to $25,000 profit on this car and when questions are asked he will say “I don’t know the answer”.

I have a 1978 Lincoln Town Coupe saved from Facebook with those same stupid wide whites. And for both cars, the tires will then need replaced. In my opinion, this is a fine $12,000 car with regular radials but getting into the $20k range we all know won’t happen. Issue is, these cars drop off Facebook or CL and we never know how it all ended up. Would be nice to know.

And in Casino Beige no less.

Also I am pretty sure someone makes Crager SS and Keystone s NEW now in all manner of sizes.

I don’t think I could afford Crager SS back in the day. Never liked Keystones as much but I would put a set of Cragers on a period car even now.

1949 Chrysler Town and Country Manual transmission problem

I would just say - remove and either you rebuild or have a qualified shop rebuild it. It has been many years since I was in automotive school -1996-1998 - so I am no longer an expert on them. Not sure where to get hard parts, but hopefully still available. -
1967 Imperial Crown $13,500

Like some of us, I love the Turbine Bronze color. I like all Burnt Sienna tinged colors. No doubt John, I prefer a 65 or 66 Imperial over a 67, but I still like 67-68 Imperials. Of the 2 years, I personally prefer the 68 Imperial grille over the 67 because it is more substantial. -
I love it. Color looks to be more Wisteria but who knows and if I purchased it, I would not be showing it to win trophies, maybe local show trophies and they don't care about that much correctness. Been restored, and it looks it. If done correctly, you are looking at $80,000 - maybe a bit less in 1998 prices. I slightly prefer the longer finned 1957's. As to why it has not sold, could be a hundred reasons but #1 is that perhaps it has not been aggressively marketed. Remember that this has been on Facebook marketplace for a year. But I would bet it does not come in too many specific searches. Now - hand it over to a local to Chicago dealer, put it in a regional Mecum auction, throw it on ebay with 75 photos, you get the point - put it in front of eyeballs and Lincoln Club members and it should sell - for market price. I suppose a fellow could do a search of BaT and see what any 1956 cars are selling for and dollar cost average that. But to me, now that the seller is listening to offers, if a person could sneak in and get this for $20,000 to $22,000, again provided all of the usual inspections show a decent affirmative result - that's a good buy. 1956 Cadillacs and Buick Roadmasters in similar condition start around $35,000 to $40,000 and some end up in the $25,000 to $30,000 sold range. Not sure about Imperial 2 door hardtops.

If it is truly a 3 speed manual, then if I remember from my mechanic years, 1st and reverse are on the same shaft. It might be time for a rebuild. -

Very interesting and straightforward explanation of Fluid Drive. Should be pinned somewhere as I am sure the subject will come up again. OP - let us know how things are going. -
I agree, but those were strange times for Ford, and if I remember the ledger was a little thin for awhile. Ernie Breech helped, not sure about the whiz kids as a whole. So - I really like this car and if it were a Cadillac, I think it tips $50,000. My only beef is the black leather interior. Ouch in the summer. I can say I mostly drove my convertibles top down in the spring and fall and had the heater on. Not much driving in the summer, and blankets would be a necessity.

He was irritated. I believe he called me a name. But I can not locate it anymore, I may have deleted and blocked. I did encourage him to come here and comment. -
Funny. Have owned them all. In those years each division was unique enough that this should not be an issue.

Good to hear so many are into these cars. I'm stuck in suburban hell, with a tight custom 2 car garage and every time I mention interest in an old car my wife reminds me "I thought you were out of that hobby."
