  1. Can't argue with these comments, still a nice color. One wishes the sellers would not be so passive-aggresive. Having an ad on Facebook marketplace gives some folks license to be this arrogant way.
  2. Pretty much why I posted it. Looks like original paint and interior on a 49,000 mile car! If a person can get this for $6500, which I believe is quite possible - then it could become a great entry level car or a 2nd car to enjoy to take the miles off a $35,000 car. I love it. And yes - always go look at the seller, it usually says a lot. Not always, but this is a feminist woman judging from her facebook content, so don't go in there with a MAGA hat on. Just be nice and say how about $6,000? She might counter, I suspect this is a relative's car she is assisting in selling, so the money might be going to assisted living or a nursing home relative. On the other hand I have seen cars where I check out the person and their content and instantly "unsave" the car from my account.
  3. Yes, I was going to mention that. I personally am thrilled with the ad content. LOTS of photos, quite a bit of word content. I look at facebook marketplace ads a lot now that Craigslist is less of a marketplace. I get so frustrated for the same reasons I did the old CL free ads - 1-2 photos and virtually no written content when you could have 16 photos and a short book of information. So I think this lady did OK.
  4. It is priced way high. I can save 15-20 of these a day on facebook marketplace in better or the same condition for $3,000 to $7,500, and most of those are not selling at those prices. Most GM, Ford, and Mopar trucks are well supported by a few catalogs and specialty firms. When I look at a truck project, I am looking for a low rust or surface rust only cab - most beds are available from a catalog. I am looking for completeness. I am looking for a restorable grille, and even then you can often get a repop grille. In the case of the Chevy's up to 1953, the Stovebolts with unpressurized 6 cylinders are almost throwaways to me. I had a 1948 Chevy Suburban (wish I still had it) and I bought a full oil pressure late 50's Chevy motor for it. Looks "very" similar so reliable performance was more important to me.

  6. Geez the subject car is in Des Moines too, where I am at.
  7. Thank you for educating us. I had little knowledge of these cars. It is almost as if the 1969 is an afterthought before ending production, as is the case on some models nearing the end of production cycles.
  8. I am actively looking for another one. The 2 I purchased were project cars. Like restoring an older American pickup, the great thing about a TR Triumph, an MG MGA, or even a Datsun Z for that matter - is that ONE person, in a good space can do 95% of the lifting and moving of frames, bodies, engines. Many prefer the TR3 because it's old school looking and was very popular in America. Triumph recognized, with the MG MGA that they needed to join the more modern British sports car world and came out with the Italian designed TR4. There was instant American backlash and the last TR3 B was continued for awhile so American dealers could import more.

  10. Marketplace - 1967 Chrysler Imperial Sedan 4D | Facebook Description 1967 Chrysler Imperial Crown sedan True Survivor. 86,100 Original Miles, V8 - 440 Engine. Complete rebuilt This Imperial is in good operational order. Every system is gone thru and renewed. Drive it coast to coast with confidence. Garage kept since new. The engine runs strong . This is one of those cars you would assume to be worse at inspection, its not. Even the weather strip is NOS. Turbine Bronze original paint Black Leather and top. Color made famous by the 1963 Turbine jet car. This is an amazing survivor that has been completely mechanically rebuilt. Drive coast to coast. Bargain at his price since it has that much in mechanical alone. Or you can buy one that needs restoration for about 12,000 elsewhere. Half the price of a continental, minus suicide its just as good or better. Under the hood looks like a 3 year old car. No late model trades or offers please. Wishy washy buyers stop wasting your time. Not motivated to sell. Worth more the longer it dose not sell.
  11. I am a truck fan, I subscribe to Vintage Truck magazine, but truck sellers are doing the same thing as car sellers in this post-pandemic inflation fueled market = adding $9,000 or more to what they would normally ask. Hand painted? Seriously?
  12. I am a fan of this body color, a brown with a touch of copper. And I will always like saddle tan leather. I am not a big fan of four door Lincolns of this era. I have saved this on my Facebook feed though. 35,000 original miles, if verified.
  13. Marketplace - 1977 Lincoln Continental | Facebook Seller's Description 1977 Lincoln Continental - Rust colored Excellent condition , 35,000 original miles New tires, brakes loaded $12,900 OBO
  14. I owned a 56 Holiday 98 2 door hardtop and have though seriously about getting another one. Many do not like the "bassmouth" grille. The deep side coves which mimic the Corvette - sold me. The 98 did not have the "french curves" C Pillar of Cadillac or Buick. But to me that did not matter much. It all started for me with a 1956 GM ad I framed and kept for years of the 1956 98 Holiday with a female model holding an umbrella. This isn't the one, but the colors are similar
  15. If a person buys the white car, a set of factory “mags” is a necessity. Hubcaps are “meh” on a personal luxury icon like the Cordoba.
  16. Your car is really nice. I love the Magnums from that 79-82 era when Iacocca did the last real Imperial.
  17. Yeah. Was popping up in my Centurion searches.
  18. I don't mind Cordobas and generally would never buy a white car. Of the 250 + vehicles I have owned, I am not sure I have ever had a white painted car. But, this might be the exception because of the white bucket seat console interior. I don't know, but this car probably changes hands at around $8,000 and I think will appreciate probably around 1-2% annually as boomers like me get even more nostalgic and muscle cars are out of reach priced in the $40,000 to $75,000 range.
