  1. There was a reason Pontiac changed to the arrow.
  2. That's some story Marty, I'm glad you're still with us! Be careful guys. You just never know.
  3. Was making brake parts for a 1937 Datsun roadster rumble seat using the Bridgeport lathe when one of my technicians tapped me on the shoulder to ask a question. Not too much finger damage, but he spent the rest of the day looking over machine shop safety procedures. I felt like giving him a dunce cap and standing him in the corner.
  4. In this General section scroll down to this; Clayton Restorations, Co — great video of his shop It will tell you what they do. By Cadillac Fan, yesterday at 07:23 AM
  5. Sorry Terry, it snowed yesterday and will again tonight and tomorrow. Who would have thought - Arizona.
  6. I would rather use Pontiac's version of fuel injection, especially the 58 version with that turbo. I would rather use the Olds turbo on the Olds headed V-8 I would rather use the three-speed transaxle instead of the four-speed, When Tempest received the 336" V-8 in 1963 you could not get the four-speed transaxle because it wasn't strong enough. I would use an intercooler.
  7. And weight! The only time I use a battery driven tool is a small handheld 1/4 drive for small sockets and screw drivers for dash and under dash work where they save twisting time and save breaking things, especially 1970's+ plastic things.
  8. I know the 59 Pontiac automatics could not be push started, but it's also interesting the 59's were the last controlled coupling hydra-matics to be cast iron.
  9. Here is a 1958 Pontiac Brochure that calls Controlled Coupling HydraMatic the Super HydraMatic.
  10. The hard part (especially daily drivers) is the clean up. Just the frame and suspension can take 2-3 hours and underbody floor another hour. My 69 LeMans and my 65 111 VW haven't been in the rain since 1974, my 64 113 VW since 79, my 76 Olds Omega since 89.
  11. That child! maybe someone from this club should enlighten him with some facts before he spreads things further. Groundbreakers: the cars that did it first Story by Richard Dredge • 1h ago
  12. Doesn't really matter to me. The important thing is they covered it. When was the last time a magazine did an article on a 61-63 F-85?
  13. YOU mentioned there was NO StarChief Wagon, and then you went back and amended it, but my comment held your original statement. Own up!
  14. As John Gunnell said. It's rare to find a real photo of an 860-wagon with those features. He couldn't find a real picture for the 55 model for his book " 75 years of Pontiac". Brochures= no problem.
  15. Own up Twisted shifter, you went back and amended your first post. Here is the original that I commented on. You said NO StarChief Wagon! 13 hours ago, Twisted Shifter said: In 1955, Pontiac manufactured xx station wagon models: Chieftain 870 Deluxe series, six passengers Chieftain 860 Special series, six and nine passengers No wagons were produced in the Star Chief series As stated above, you will need to supply body tag numbers to determine the series, unless it is a 9 passenger model, then its a Chieftain 860 Special series.
  16. Hey guys, "Collectible Automobile" February 2023 has an article on the 61-63 F-85's, prototypes to Jetfire.
  17. Kind of a rare model to post for photos. Features two non-folding seats and " Unusual rear ventipanes" located directly behind the rear side doors
  18. Wrong, the StarChief Custom two door Safari is a wagon.
  19. Hey Charles, can you tell me/ show me what if any are the identifying marks on that carburetor telling me if a certain carb is a 692CFM carb. Thanks in advance.👍
