  1. Heck, for my knock around with worn engine and crappy paint 46 coupe I would take 6k if these are the going prices today. Just me but the true coupes just look better. Extra window gives it that leaning forward look IMO.
  2. A parts car that needs everything. I don't think those valve cage covers have been off in 50 years. 1200 hundred just because I have a 31 and need to repair/replace a rear lower leaf.
  3. One thing I notice here and it is just like my 50 Chrysler Newport coupe is that when you roll down the door windows it takes the upper chrome with it and leaves a "void" of chrome while the back windows is just chrome surround and stays. It strikes me as odd they would design it this way. It is much more pronounced on the Chryslers. Looks like something is just missing when the windows are down. I do like this car. What makes it a Riviera ?
  4. I know my 49 Roadmaster when warmed up, and with a little loose sand from the harverster ant pile under the tire, with some dew on the ground, and down to a 1/4 tank, will break loose a bias ply with the wind behind her and the tires turned hard to the left
  5. Trying to figure the paint loss and why it looks this way. Just the doors? And IMO the engine looks like it was sprayed with a gallon of brake parts cleaner? Guessing this car sat for some time. On the radar but boy I would go over it personally for a few days. Just a couple wierd things that make me go Hmmm
  6. A shame an interior that solid is so faded. But that is the life of a convertible. Every year my 65 Fury convertible gets a little more sun fade which I take as a badge of use. But I always looked at this years Chryslers as just driving a square box.
  7. Yep, dogs, small kids, and wet oktoberfest beer farts could not screw up that interior.
  8. My Brother still is in Blue Point and he says Nassau County is slowly creeping that way. Great place to grow up. Miss it quite a bit but don't miss the taxes and cost of living
  9. I grew up on the South Shore in Blue Point (oysters) and spent many a day out east. Wading River, Rocky Point, ect all have great farms still. Peaches and Pumpkins. Many a sod farm. Have a buddy who started a hop farm a few years back. Just a great old area with lots of history. Father was a fireman forever at Camp Upton (Brookhaven National Lab) and was a WW 1 recruit training area (Yip Yip Yaphank) and boy was that a place to explore. But yes, vineyards have really taken over. Thanks for bringing back some memories.
  10. How many hours it take to clean the grill after driving through a grasshopper swarm ?
  11. It is funny going from a 31 Franklin and driving around friends and then stuffing them into the 31 Plymouth I would one day enjoy having a ride in a 1919 Locomobile or similiar.
  12. My 63 Dodge 880 had rear brakes sticking. Wasn't the hose swelling. Changed that. Nothing. Head scratcher. Ended up disconnecting the hard line to rear from the master and found out I could pull and hold a vacuum on it. Now that was a fun one to bend and replace. Became a expert on popping those drums.
  13. I think people see "big fins" and Christine look alike and forget about it 4 doors. Electrical needs a good inspection
  14. Wonder if that is a factory heater. A very nice and simple design
  15. Yep, Labor day time makes the NE states a perfect drive before the leafers overrun everything
