  1. Congratulations Ever thought you would make it there the first day you ever started that FIRST job ? I never have.
  2. I don't know how you could ever blend one these colors in with another. Regardless what you chose you'll have the wheels to work out. I mean if you just did the white what could ever match the other ?
  3. Were about to go from 81 to 25. Of course on the weekend. Gotta make the best out of the days you get!
  4. Not sure how green paint from back in the day will age but the tin plate ceiling I have in my bar is a rustoleum green that even matches the thin spots seen here as I was going for the "aged" look in my saloon. No pin stripping ?
  5. Amazing how some of these steering wheels survived almost perfect. Nice stance combined with the roof line gives a look of it getting ready to jump and go. Lowering the roof a little really changed things this year.
  6. Isn't there a safety as well between the generator circuit built into this? My 49 had been converted to 12 volt for AC and this was removed. After 3 times doing a mad dash around the car to pull the cable off the battery terminal because the switch stuck and kept cranking over I added the bump switch. The manual goes over for that year car. I have a brand new NOS vac switch I never installed sitting here.
  7. Yep, water build up on the lower trunk edge is the bad spot and under the running boards / brackets. Good motors and trans. Parts are easy. Every worked good back then and can be made to as good now with just a little time on it.
  8. And I thought the word "Bullitt" would bring trouble
  9. Not many of those must have made it into cars. Not many must be left in cars originally with it either.
  10. They actually put a 4 cylinder in these ? I thought they were long gone in mid sized cars by then
  11. He is on here regularly. There is not much internally to rebuilding these carbs. On my brass bowl carter for a 31 Plymouth I had to get some drill rod sized drill bits to open up the idle tube but the limited number of parts inside amazed me.
  12. Better looking interior then my 65 Fury. Lots of fun here for little money
  13. You border dwellers either have it 12 degree's colder or 12 degree's hotter and your not that far from Fort Worth
  14. I know it has to be something low and major because this puppy bleed out just sitting there not running over a few days
  15. I will most likely go with DEX II then. It is a parts chaser car I use for 20 mile runs around town and back but whomever rebuilt the trans did install a shift kit. Right now it is on the lift with most of the trans fluid on the floor for some reason. This just popped up after a drive when it started slipping. I mean like most of it. No clue where it came from. No hole in the pan and wondering if it is from the speedo cable area after a quick look. That is this weekends job.
  16. This really makes me want to get a 1917-18 Buick now in the worst way! Almost sounds like working on my Franklin
  17. Have you sprayed around the carb base and such with carb cleaner looking for vac leaks?
