  1. All the vacuum lines and actuators for the heat/AC control and the plastic connection block that is always brittle the nipple connections just snap off sucks beyond belief. I gave up on fixing mine in a 63 dodge as that connection block is impossible to find or repair. Mine turned to dust on removal. I just mounted a seperate switch for the heater blower motor and manually open the damper for winter driving. Unless he has a NOS one here I doubt those controls are working. Everything is just vacuum control. The nipples on these controls just snap off.
  2. The interior takes me back to a hot and humid Long Island late July when Mom got her first new couch and chair and wanted to save the fabric with plastic slip covers. God I can still remember peeling yourself off those things and that sound to go with it.
  3. I am guessing my 31's are in super, over the top, never before seen, condition. The past winters dust is just all the minty-ness rising to the top.
  4. Thanks for sharing. The pictures take me back. Sure do miss upstate NY this time of year
  5. It is a one of one. I would like to see the body tag. See what it started life as.
  6. This is worth a repost IMO. A good discussion car. Did they source any parts or were the motor's trans, etc, strictly in house and one off ?
  7. Have yearned to find one in a 2 door with a 4 speed. Only 900 convertibles for the year ? Much less with a 4 speed. Last year for it.
  8. 3 shifts and then at a certian rpm and speed just lift off the gas for a brief second and it goes into OD. There is also an electrical kick down to get it back to third that can be a pain. Mine was bypassed and the linkage gone. By this time they were calling it "Cruise and Climb". I need to get that girl out and get back on it now that cooler weather has arrived.
  9. Beauty of a car. Really nice dash. The driving vid shows the great and simple over drive in action. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1938-chrysler-c-19-imperial-touring-sedan/
  10. Nice looking color comobo IMO. Chrome just looks to need a good cleaning to get the turtle wax spray off for the most part. I do wonder what is bleeding to death possibily looking under the front end. This year with this motor been on my list. But I decided to add a billiards room on the house instead this year.
  11. What are the "S" and "L" white indicators/covers for on the lower dash ?
  12. Can you disconnect the original and put in a temporary gauge to test and see if it is the gauge ?
  13. I just don't get the whole clear coat the manufactured rust deal. There is a guy here a couple hours south of Fort Worth that totally sanded his car to bare metal, then buffed that to a shine and now just "oils" it. It really shines like stainless but geeze on humid mornings it has to flash rust if the oil is thin
  14. Hasn't this been posted before but with near flat tires?
  15. I can't belive that bakelite is that good in a convertible.
