  1. Now no longer "ridiculous high" and only "unrealistic high". https://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/cto/d/san-jose-1925-essex-2dr-sedan/7716728209.html 100 years old,Rare all original condition runs and drives great. 6 cly 3 speed transmission. interior is original, Clean California title email: 43eb4c052a6e396dba57807991c54e9e@sale.craigslist.org
  2. I know all Stutz are not created equal, and this is probably not a competitive price, but I do love the Stutz style! Ad is just a bunch of blather...don't they think Stutz buyers know anything? https://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/listing/1927-stutz-vertical-eight-boise-id-2717363?utm_medium=email&utm_source=saved_search&utm_campaign=2024-02-12&uemlid=5c52623cdf01c39cebf1f9966b2e8670a226918da0306e2d4b2032cdc6ca47ec 1927 Stutz Vertical Eight Sedan $75,100 Significant drop in price! Beautiful classic sedan that looks great in and out. Lives in the high desert environment- dry and warm. Expertly rebuilt and nurtured. Great lines. Runs softly. Operates on the airport and is otherwise carried in trailer. Opens eyes and brings back memories - even if you are a child This is what most people "remember" when they think of a "Classic Car"! You can join the parade.
  3. I completely agree with your assessment of the MGB. It was an enormous step forward when introduced in the 60s, but by the late 70s was not only dated but not as good a car with an almost 4 inch increase in ride height and big drop in horsepower. Their approach to meeting US regs was laughable, especially when compared to Porsche, which was doing similar production volumes. My 76 Midget has a box of gears in the middle of the speedo cable. This clockwork box is intended to tell you when the catalytic converter must be replaced. I know of no other car with a similar feature!
  4. Just to show that our problems aren't new...mufflers were required at Brooklands and they were forbidden to race at night, so the 24 hour race was called "The Double Twelve".
  5. Not much information, pretty high price...what's with the yellow headlights? (more pics in ad) https://austin.craigslist.org/cto/d/burnet-1927-dodge-brothers-cyl/7711418560.html Rare find 2 owners kept indoors all its life. Runs great. Could use some TLC. email: aac66c1bdb093b49964db857a65e17a4@sale.craigslist.org
  6. Not much information but it might not take much to get this on the road...four wheel hydraulic brakes were an option on the '28 model 52 but it's unclear if this car has them. https://pueblo.craigslist.org/cto/d/pueblo-28-chrysler-52-coupe/7714003276.html Original car needs gas tank replaced or repaired (719) 248-2794

  9. Seems like a fair deal to me! https://slo.craigslist.org/cto/d/atascadero-1926-model/7716640919.html 1926 Ford Model T Coupe in overall good condition. This a project vehicle just about ready. It’s missing the front fenders, side motor covers and windows for the doors. Comes with extra parts. Located in Atascadero. It’s currently on my trailer. I can deliver within 20 miles for no fee. The title is currently being transferred from a family trust so it might take a couple weeks for it to arrive. A VIN verification need to be done in Oder for it to be registered. This is a great deal for this vehicle. $3800 firm. (805) 674-1685
  10. A very interesting and neat car...I'm sure you couldn't restore it and come out economically, but I hope it can avoid the "restorod" fate.
  11. The Porsche version was called "Sportomatic", pretty rare option that would reduce resale value in the old days but (like the bench seat option on a 356) adds to it today.
  12. No real info in the ad, but a very interesting vehicle! https://sandiego.craigslist.org/ssd/cto/d/chula-vista-1924-franklin-limo/7713408710.html 1924 Franklin Limo. Car runs. 6 cylinder. 3 speed. Feel free to reach out to me with any questions. Asking 14,000 OBO (858) 336-4252

  16. There's a rare bird for sure! I first I thought it couldn't handle American V8 torque, but then I remembered they were used in the Facel Vega.
  17. VW and Porsche had similar setups: There was the standard transmission but a torque converter was added. It still had a clutch but instead of the clutch pedal, there was a switch in the gear lever that pushed in the clutch when ever you touched it. My brother-in-law lost the use of his left knee in Vietnam and had a 1968 911 with the set up. It worked OK once you got used to it.
  18. Here's a famous picture which also conveys the rough surface! Here's a picture from the air...it opened in 1907 (I think) for the express purpose of improving British cars, and a large portion was taken down at the beginning of WWII to make way for an air strip.
  19. I visited a few years ago...a fascinating place! No cars were running but we walked a portion of the track and were shocked by how extreme the banking is and how terribly rough it is! It must have been terribly hard on both cars and drivers. Knowing their moto was "The right crowd and no crowing", I got a kick out of going to "the loo" and standing where so many famous men of the 20's and '30s had stood.
  20. I just returned Thursday from a week on Oahu and Maui with the family. We rented a condo in the ilikai hotel on Oahu through Air BnB. It had a kitchen which cuts down costs a lot. There is a really nice high end grocery a block away in the Ala Moana center and a wealthy friend gave is a great tip: The store is called Foodland Farms and if you go to their website and register, each time you check out you will receive a substantial discount (more than 10%).I believe this allows locals to shop there while the soak the tourists. You could just use any US phone number if your Australian one doesn't work...they aren't going to call you! I was unable to come up with any car related activities! Too bad because the driving there would be perfect for a vintage car! we spent about 3 hours driving around the very beautiful North Shore and down the East side and I thought the rental car's gas gauge was stuck, but when I turned it in we'd only gone 46 miles! I don't know how it is in your area, but here Travel Agents have done the way of phone books...those few that are left are useless.
  21. 22. "all the money" as they say, but no doubt a fraction of what's been spent on it. (More pics in ad) https://phoenix.craigslist.org/nph/cto/d/phoenix-1931-buick-coupe/7710288155.html Restored 1931 Buick Model 50 Business Coupe. The car has had a frame off restoration.
