  1. Bernie, Next time I use POR 15 I’ll wear the gloves. Bernie, thanks for the tip on Xylene. Turbinator
  2. Or no washer installed. And the nut on the snout not torqued to specs. A shop almost ruined my car because of incompetence. My balancer came off while I was driving. Costly second repair. Everything is fine now. I was lucky. Turbinator
  3. KReed, good idea. Thank you Turbinator
  4. Bernie, so true. I believe we would be more attentive to our collector car. I am really a bit sensitive over keeping the oil changed and oil level kept on full. Radiator, transmission and power steering fluids I like to keep after as well. The first generation Riv’s are getting some age on them and they need appropriate attention. Turbinator
  5. Kegart, nicely installed as well. Wise use of space. Turbinator Gary
  6. Gents, the stuff really takes forever and a day to come off.
  7. Blind squirrel found an acorn. I did not use them. I prefer the the door the way it is. Thank you Turbinator
  8. So I guess the ones I got in KS last June all wrapped up for $80.00was deal? Turbinator
  9. Another happy customer getting his 63 Turbines back repaired, cleaned, polished, and buffed. Turninator

  14. I could use one of those multi purpose welders that does, stick, MIG & TIG. You can get them off rental at Roberts Oxygen in Baltimore
  15. Mike, thank you for thinking of me and running the find “down”. I never thought of craigslist for the springs. I use craigslist to buy and sell outdoor power equipment , fence posts, etc Turbinator
  16. Winston, thank you. I got a bottom bucket ( passenger) from Gene. I’ll check out the tension in the springs. I believe Gene has the solution. thank you Turbinator
  17. Winston, I have a number of directions I’m pursuing to get the springs. Gene has a passenger bottom bucket from a 63. Id like new springs so interchangeability with other GM body types that match up with the 63 E body could work. I found an advertiser in Hemmings that promises to make the springs for you, but he needs a sample. Thank you for the help, I appreciate you taking the time to point me in the right direction. 18. Once I made a mistake thinking I made one.
  19. Gents, anyone know of a supplier of 63 Riviera seat springs. Can anyone direct me to a diagram of seat frame for a 63 Riviera? Thank you Turbinator
  20. Could be all the honks are blown out. 🤣 I just could not resist. All in fun. Turbinator
  21. Gene, I want two (2) T shirts. I don't care what color or year as long as it fits. Turbinator
  22. Mitch- how about wet sanding? Ive heard you can ge a great ROI on time invested with wet sanding. Uh, another item..... you have to know what you are doing, really. You know I'm backward on buffing. I use my hands. Ive got 9 million DA's, rotary, jitterbug, a couple of Dynabrades for cast aluminum work. When its comes to paint I slow down take it easy and get what I want out of the paint. Might not be the best in the world, but the shine satisfies me. Turbinator
  23. Gents, here is an exchange set of cast aluminum turbines that were refinished. The customer requested his two bar spinners be chrome plated and the center cap be buffed to a mirror like finish. There is more to the story. Here are some pics.
  24. Gents, the FACT of the matter is what Tom T is saying is the Truth with a capital "T". I had the sway bar rubber, track bar rubber, and 4 new Bilstein shocks installed and the feel was better from original. Once, the steering box was rebuilt it went back in the same way it came out. The difference once the steering box was replaced made the $ I spent well worth the investment. I'm really happy the installation of all the parts in the suspension was something I could do without having heart burn. The feel in the steering now felt like both front tires were on the road doing the steering, but real easy to steer. No loss in the boulevard ride just better. One new trick was learning how to use a crow foot tube wrench with long extension to tighten the power steering line connection down low near the fire wall. Lot of fun.
