  1. Sorry, I meant the guts were interchangeable? If/when you open the removed box, you can inspect the IC (chips) for obvious wear. Continuity (meter) check all ic legs to board for shorts and do a visual inspection. Here is a visual cue:
  2. Good point Riv Nut. I have purchased items from CARS with good results. And will get more from them. I don't have a shop or compressor. Just off parts here, so I'd like shared experience with their spray paint if any anyone has it, please. Thanks
  3. Yes. It should be a darker red with the slightest hint toward orange. Sorry about that glop on yours EmTee. Thanks for link Chimera. I'll go with Hirsch. I didn't know they had spray cans and a tolerable price. - Winter project
  4. Greetings Anyone have experience with CARS engine spray paint? Thank you
  5. Hey Rivman - what AC issues do you have? I remember the ducting control modules had an I.C. chip that failed. Theres several modules and all were interchangeable. I repaired a couple. Its a cheap Motorala chip you can replace. I paid a buck for the chip. The modules back in the day were almost $200?
  6. Just watch the plastic intake manifold. They have failed and a flood of coolant can choke the motor. I believe this is what happened to my car after I sold it. Heres a link: http://www.aa1car.com/library/diagnose_buick_3800_engine.htm It was a very comfortable ride! My dash and steering wheel was all blue with real wood inserts. Gorgeous. Hard to find interiors with color matching the dash now.
  7. Congrats! I loved mine. Sadly, after I sold it with 68,000 miles, the new owner said something loosed in the plenum and got ingested. He had to replace the motor! Wish I had more detail. There was no supercharger so maybe its not an issue on yours. I'll look in to it.
  8. That's a HUGE set of salt and pepper shakers! Nice work. First car I painted was a '73 Riviera. UGH what a beast, never again.
  9. Hey - glad to see I'm not the only one with a caked up block I was gonna re-paint the oil pan but it appears I'd have to lift the motor? Yikes. Would like to see those Stepsides, RoadShark!
  10. Hey thanks EmTee! Great reference data. I'll meter on it as soon as I get back in state. I still cant find a sender. I might soak it in a sonic cleaner. I know the port is very small. Maybe its coked up.
  11. I'm afraid you ordered 2 of the same pair. My '77 Monte Carlo had the same system as yours. And I think my '85 El Camino did as well. You need to order the hi pair and low pair. Silver Stars are VERY bright. I put them on about 3 years ago. You need H4656 pair (Low beam) and H4651 pair (high) I'm sure Hella makes an equivalent. So Sorry

  13. Jeez - that stinks. Crazy4cruz has a MINT GS wheel for sale.
  14. Greetings Will a '65 GS steering wheel fit easily on a '67 column? Thank you much
  15. I don't believe it was an option for '67? Otherwise I'd buy it. Sweet wheel!
  16. I've seen the wheels go for over 1000 USD with all parts. So I would guess half that w/o horn bar and cap. I would suggest repairing the antenna. That should command a few clams, then. I'm sure someone is wanting them.
  17. Not mine but this could be the steal if true: http://losangeles.craigslist.org/wst/cto/5606121512.html
  18. Hey friends I got a really nice set of headlamp doors free. RT side has very slight pitting. U pay postage.
  19. Arrrrgh - is no one interested in the black '63?! I can't believe it.
  20. My gosh I've exhausted the internet. No one has these oil pressure senders.
  21. Thanks all. Heres my sender. Its not bent to 45'. Do other '67's share this style? Thank again!
  22. Another solution to not affect your cars originality is to cruise with this Bluetooth speaker. 10 hour play time. Drop it in my back seat. No cables. Use my cell phone or iPod to transmit FM or MP3's. Its got great bass - better than the Bose portable. http://www.nyne.com/product/nyne-bass/ I have black seats - don't even notice it sittin there. Love it.
  23. That black '63 is a steal if no rust. My gosh someone needs to grab that. What a tease!
  24. Having trouble finding direct match. Big chains don't carry a sending unit. Found one for a '67 Firebird and one for a '67 Olds on the 'net. My car has a terminal at about 45 degrees. These are straight. Bet they both work?
