  1. If you would contact Chrysler you may want to ask for the index or summaries . As the build cards are copied from micro-fishe they can not be blindly searching all for a given vehicle . Their either indexed by serial number (most likely ) or date or model years . All of what you can use . Yes , it may be easier to have them just vertify what you suppose . And the unknown is if there is a cost for there research . Looking at my truck from 1934 red book above it looks like it went model years from July 1st on some models and others Jan. in same years . Same confusing discussion is in DBC truck book you have coming . tom
  2. Where lites direct wire or through existing ballast both types are available at about 15.00 each now ,price keep dropping . If your going through existing ballast problem could be there .
  3. Eric have you contacted Chrysler Historical Service ,Danielle maybe able to help .? Info and email is same used to get build cards .
  4. Not surprised .This is from a local swap / sell paper . Price seems high for it also , I'm sure lots of room, there advertising is free until sold ,I think they run about 3 months each time .
  5. That serial number of D-237361 is right just for Detroit but end date is Jan 1932 , which like 3 3/4 years of production .
  6. https://www.thepapershop.com/listing/single/scranton/Antique-Cars---Trucks/1952-CHRYSLER-CUSTOM-DELUXE-NEW-YORKER?metroId=10000001&categoryId=10987&listingId=1000000154458#.VpbGS3lIizc For Sale Not mine ,but a barn find .
  7. It is listed on DBC web site . Attached is pic of front page and one example page . I would be interested in helping in any way .I tried contacting the author of most of article with no response . My interest is what actual vehicle types and serial number ,compare to there motor numbers prefix's ie have UF-10 code u2a engine in book listed to be Plymouth PA, change prior year from U model . But my engine prefix is UT-24XXXX base on build card this is original motor . DBC book.pdf
  8. Do you have copy of (The Official Guide TO Dodge Brothers & Graham Brothers Trucks Through 1938 by DBCnews ).. Most of your questions are answered there . It is a great reprint of articles that appeared in Dodge Brothers Club News Magazine over years . Tom ps ; serial number info that totals and divide by months of production got me within 2months on mine .
  9. Sorry Dix40 , I think your missing something in the reading of Keiser31 instructions . You still have to center the brakes in the drum and the measurer tool is not needed unless you also have the Miller type tool . Please reread or search again how this and similar tools work . Ply33 has a site called Plymouth the First Decade this info and tons more is there free as a wealth of info . good luck keep us posted . TOM
  10. I donot know . That's one book I have not got yet. Seem like all references coming from it are Dodge part number with few pictures of items . Hope someone proves me wrong .
  11. Thanks All , Did some of tests recommended . Compression all cylinders 60-62 PSI , plugs showed black carbon . But the vac was most interesting .At the single wiper removed hose read 8 "Hg, but during engine revving it fell to 4-5 "Hg . Then removed metal tube at intake manifold put vac gage to port and engine went to a high idle, pushed throttle lower and was getting a reading of about 18"Hg vac .was not able to rev engine from position and fingesr were freezing . I think, I must look for a line leak . What would normal vac be ? Jon , attached is a pic from my owners manual of carb not sure if same for six cylinder . It looks like a backwards Chevy RJH-08 . An article in DBC magazine show same truck with similar, but could not see pump on it, and listed as DRJH-08 . Any input ? Tom
  12. Glad to hear Rande . Mine on 31 pickup are same . I made the wood tool used 3/8 all thread rod so a little stiffer and the arm can just be squared . Dix40 pics will help . Slits as long as you got four in each drum, should work . I thought of doing it, but did wood in less time and you can visualize the shoe moving on eccentrics, as they move in and out depending on if you turn cw or ccw .It also lifts or lowers shoe . That movement is hard to visualize behind drum . The tool is a Miller 17xx something, doing a search on this site will show it . Read Keisers attachments above, all the details are there .
  13. I am surprised no one has original tire strap for measurement . Giving a bump for more exposer .
  14. Thanks All . Did a visual with mirror of manifold and carb . No unplugged holes found . Did find a number stamped on flange of carb 12-91 . I'm attaching pic and will get a pressure gage and vac gage to check . It runs and idles so great even backing up 300' driveway fast ,is no trouble . If you could point out MAIN screw Jon , I would appreciate . One pic shows with temp. fuel filter added ,and inside when cleaned bowl of white corrosion .
  15. Happy Holidays All My 4cyl 1931 Plymouth engine 196ci engine in'31 Dodge /Graham has a replacement zenith updraft carb on it . I have been fighting to get the engine to run consistently uphill . I eliminated fuel dirt and rebuilt fuel pump diaphragm . I cannot find numbers on carb believe it to be 267 or 14966 . It starves out of fuel on acceleration on grades , can not restart till back down . I removed bowl and clean inside with cleaner . Could this be an adjustment issue ? Does any one have set up adjustment . Or maybe vacuum issue ? What would vac be on this engine ? Do not if truck ever worked proper ,I just got this year . Thanks Tom
  16. I think there's a brass washer in in the gland nut . Do NOT put packing between them .
  17. Thanks Gunsmoke , I'm not looking for being utilitarian, much as historical accurate . Having original buckle half , figured somebody would have other half or whole unit . An original unit of a leather strap 85 years old will most likely be hard and dry rotted . And where more than likely change throughout the years . So finding a original or accurate repro quite unique . Thanks also Ttotired , The title was abbreviated as the forum shows for WTS,WTB, WTK wants to know . I guess saying boob mount at end would have keep thread near top . But only open me up for an edit putting the word boob in the front . Ha! Boob WTK .o.a.l. . ...
  18. Hello All; I ask same in Dodge Brother threads below no response . I have a half of spare tire strap for Dodge /Graham side mount .Want to reproduce accurate copy need overall length and hole to hole . Original where very unique in buckle attaching with staples, nails and sewing . Had 1" roller buckle and two keepers opposite each other .
  19. My mistake . Was thinking after ward if it had a fuel pump or vacuum system with gravity feed .
  20. There must be something to lead TEL in fuel . As EPA is in middle of big evaluation to pick a replacement for LL and VLL avgas fuels used in piston driven planes . There are 5 companies vialing for certification as all TEL will be gone from fuel after 2016 if substitute is found . There are no more manufactures of TEL in US only UK as one left . So high performance guy better buy and store . An article can be found about it online search EPA and leaded gas .
  21. Check fuel pump also . My diaphragm became stretched and starved the carb of fuel the hotter it got and more I used . Maybe aux . inlet on carb . remove plug see what pressure is like remember normal is low 1 to 2 lbs. I think . mine barely dribbled out when idling with cap right out .
  22. The info keiser 31, posted is what you need the top adjusts, on outside ,back . It is done first to get setting and last after wheels are back on . Also wheel cylinders are rebuild able ,no one makes an 1 1/4" straight thur bored replacement . Meaning if pitted you must have resleeved . Hagens on west coast did a great job on mine . PLY33 's site I mention above is a must for you it has all the numbers of parts and info on diy repairs plus great reference material . Note if you donot want to make tool .Bratton's Co Ford model A and T company sells a stamped unit that should work for under $50. Call to verify first , I noticed after finishing mine. Your Welcome
  23. You may want to check under the end caps of your wheel cylinders . Looks to be leakage of fluid that's eating paint above axle spindle . this can also damage the bearing .The bearing and at lest seal have numbers and are readily available .Do a search on making your own install tool ,it is wood and all thread .Ply 33 may have on his site of Plymouths the First Decade . That window on drum is for inspection to adjust you need to do both shoes tops and bottoms . Have Fun Tom
  24. Looking for Overall length and distant between holes, on the 1" leather strap, for top of spare tire, sided mounted . I have original buckle and about half of strap available for my repo of . Found buckle assembly very unique in that it has two opposing loops and is sewed and stapled . Tom
