  1. Jason, Thank you for the infos, I will ask Gene if he got one for me too. Otherwise, I'll try to make it like you've done it - a cool hint by the way! ;-) Thank you, I really appreciate =)
  2. Oh god, I really hope he didn't got too much trouble because of that! I had the same troubles last year with my other car I forgot to park into the garage, that was horrible... and needed a lot of money to change all the battered parts
  3. Jason, where did you got this kit? I think, I will need one too for the change from my original steering wheel to the wooden one, once I will get the horn bar and cap from Rick Rawls (buickbonehead). Thx!
  4. Hi JFrame I'm afraid not to be able to help in that issue. I just have a question about buickbonehead's repro horn bars... Did you got them recently? I'm on his waiting list too, but didn't got any response since my last request few month ago. He wanted to keep me up do date. The question just to know if I have to relaunch my request about these items. Thanx! :-)
  5. Hi Rodney I bought this polish in Germany and got my gauge glasses like new again! I highly recommend it! Here the link to the shop: https://www.modulor.de/en/acrylic-polish-paste-tube-75-ml.html If they don't ship to the US, let me know, I will buy it for you and send it to your home Regards, Eric
  6. Mine is original and chromed without any paints. Black painted on the inner side like on the pic looks very nice though!
  7. Chris, this is a very kind offer to help me to get these lights! If I can help you in any stuff you would like from Switzerland, please let me know - I'm your man! ;-) With the new input from Ed to put some LEDs in the same color than the lenses, wich I personally think is really a good idea, this probably means to order different sets of bulbs... I will check out if I can get them from an other provider than amazon/Partsam by my self. If I can't find one who is able to ship to my country, I will come back to you and give you the links to order them in the US. No problem with me if it takes a while, I'm such happy I can get them through you! Best, Eric
  8. Ed, this is a great idea to use the same LED color as the lens! Thank you for that hint and also für the information of the candle power - I didn't knew that :-) I very appreciate your help in this topic (as in all others ;D)! Best, Eric
  9. @Ed: I don't know if its amazone or Partsam who doesn't ship overseas... After the order process I just got the info that my adress isn't available for shipment. ? @ Chris: So kind of you for wanting help me out!!! I really appreciate! ??? I need LED bulbs with sockets for the whole dash pannel -> 14 bulbs with sockets... For the watch I don't know exactly if I could insert some LEDs too?! If you have a PayPal account, I can sent you the money easely... I just need the Mailadress behind your account for the payment. My address is: Eric Schmid Rossweid 10 3045 Meikirch Switzerland thank you so much!!! ?
  10. Well, Partsam doesn't ship to Switzerland. I'm a bit desapointed 'cos this information comes until the very end of the order process of amazone ? I hope to find a provider who sells these parts overseas!
  11. Rodney, I forgot... If you are interested, I've clean up my gauges too with some little refurbishing of the dashboard. Check out my pics under "restoration dashboard": https://www.flickr.com/photos/142025655@N08/albums (let not irritate you by the adverts between some of pics- I have unfortunately no influence on that!) To polish the glasses was a big revaluation and now they looks pretty neat!
  12. @Chris: Thanx for this is interesting info! I was wondering 'cos as I got the bulbs out, there where two different bulb types in the sockets - I mentioned that fact until the moment they where all out and didn't knew the correct order to put them in again... @Rodney: Yes, I cursed it initially but as I asked here in the forum, I got help pretty fast! After a good input of Jeff (VillaRiviera) and loosening the steering column bolts, it was e breeze! Just be aware to loosening every plug and cable before pull out the dashboard unit. What I also did is to remove the dash pad on the top... it was no problem and quite easy to pull out after loosening the screws. After that I made some pics of the wire plugs before removing the dashboard to be sure how to plug them in again (see thread link below). Without dash pad it is really a lot easier to plug out all wires and cables! Good luck ?? !!!
  13. Hi Rodney Sure, once installed I will post my results on this thread! ?? Just follow it. Best, Eric
  14. Thank you so much Ed and Jim for these precious informations! At the beginning I was a bit unsure to use LEDs because I red in several threads they can not be dimmed properly... on the other hand, they don't really have to be dimmed 'cos I want them bright, so... Also thank you Ed for this link on amazon, I want to try these out. I'll let you know if this works fine with the dashboard of my 65! (...otherwise I'll go back to the tried and true bulbs). Regards, Eric
  15. Hi I still stuck into this dash lights thing and want to have it done now! ;-) Can anybody tell me if there is a special order to put these lights back into the dashboard of my 65 Riv? As I took them out, I didn't take care of how they where plugged in There are two colors of the socket plugs (black and gray). Why this? Is that usual or is it because the previous owner didn't found the same as already built in? As I could see, the gray and black socket plugs doesn't have the same bulbs (black GE 194 & gray GE 161), why I think there must be a special order to put them back in, right? In general, I would like to have the lights shining bright, but not as bright as they would get too hot and destroy the electrical circuit! On the back of my dashboard some socket plugs and bulbs are missing... Can anybody tell me wich ones I will have to buy with what bulb? Below I made a pic with numbers on the holes/plugs. I really would appreciate it that much if somebody could tell me what socket plug (color) with what bulb goes to wich number... (like: 1 = Black GE 194, 2= Black GE194, etc.) Every help is very much appreciate! Thank you guys! Regards, Eric
  16. You know what, I give nothing on what people think... This car just blows me away and the color is absolutely awesome! I really can imagine how many hours you put into this project - its all about passion and when one loves, one doesn't count! Don't know if this is the right expression... here we say: "quand on aime, on ne compte pas!" A french expression I really love and live. Looks like you do the same ;-)... Congrats, that Riv is truely a jewel!
  17. Wow all this cool stuff!!! I like the wire wheels with the Marks VII on it, the Tacho RPM and also the wooden steering wheel with horn bar and horn caps. But unfortunately, its a too long distance to come from Switzerland ;-)
  18. I got my trunk lining from SMS Fabrics, looks extremely close to the original...
  19. I don't know if this can help you out, but I thought this could be a solution to retain the Tach if no other possibility available... Check out the pics, I just found them on Facebook an found the idea pretty cool! At the end, drill a hole at the right place of the "holder" to be able to pass the wires of the Tach. Diameter and depth must be of course fitting to hold the Tach in right position - eventually with some strong double-sided tape).
  20. Here you can get some bigger diagrams than to find on ebay: (klick on 18" x 24" button) http://www.classiccarwiring.com/1964-buick-riviera-color-wiring-diagram/ I just ordered one fo rmy 65 Riv, they look so easy and clear to use!
  21. This steering wheel look very neat! I think, 400 $ is surely not too much for that quality. I payed 120 $ for mine, but it was in real bad condition... Lot of cracks, splitts and scratches! But I wanted to change the whole wood imitation into real wood aniway, so...
  22. check out the shop "hogbnsf" on ebay, there I got the body manual for my 65 in perfect condition.
  23. ...But the will is there! As Germans use to say: BMW = Busen müssen wackeln -> breast must wiggle (somehow it fits here )
  24. Right, Ed China rules! I like the sympathetic way he explains every step he does and I laugh sometimes when he can't take place in some cars through its body size! What a giant in every respect! And Roger Barr amazes me each time I see "Carinis Classic Cars"... He's a great man with a inexhaustible know how - takes all his time & always easy way going! I love him =)) Well, I like Chip too... I could watch him drawing his amazing designs all day - one of my heros too! But my favorite is my sweet little sister Marianne with her devoted assistant Wulfie even if not on TV shows *lol*
  25. Thank you Chuck! Well, it looks like I've not much other possibilities that to try to reproduce it myself... I've some few ideas how to do it with Epoxy. We'll see Greez.
