My grandfather --- Jack Studnick or " Studdy " was not very educated by the school system ( He used to say, " they didn't pay me anything, what good were they ?? " ) but knew cars, inside and out.... and knew buying and selling better than anyone back in the day, and as a result, he knew --- making money --- better than anyone in the automotive parts field back then, period..... That included buying right , selling right , having everything , and --- customer service --- before there was such a thing.... We basically started " The customer is King " because we knew who paid us ..... No Tee Shirt vendors and Sunglasses vendors here --- they can't make money here --- and are gone.... The few vendors who are here --- it is actually largely Automotive --- and Signs..... I am here at Macungie.... I have set up at this show for over 30 years... It used to be a phenomenal show / event / happening..... It is, sadly a shell of what it used to be.... I don't even know the spotlight car this year --- I will let you all know tomorrow.... 97 ° / 75 % humidity setting up today --- It WAS rough --- sucking down waters like mad.... Thursday is set up day --- and the usual E Bay Vultures were here, racing around, looking for those $ 25 items that they can resell for $ 500... They were all empty handed..... The car show itself is still strong -- 800 to 1000 cars strong, the vendors area is weak --- vendors here have Died, or not made money and not come back... Hall of Fame Rock Band " Flamin' Dick and the Hot Rods " will take to the stage, in the bandshell Friday Night, if Mother nature allows... And, Saturday night, there will be a half hour fireworks display, shot off right here in the park !!! Called " Das Awkscht Fecht " , it is worth coming by...route 100, Exit 49 A off the Route 78 in East Pennsylvania, 8 miles South at the Macungie Fairgrounds / Park.....

Not necessarily there Ed in mass..... I have some N.O.S. *** 44 A C ***`Spark Plugs --- first generation with the 4 same sized Green Rings --- that the Corvette guys " K I L L for " !!!! To watch them squirm and moan and whine is so much fun for me -- I'd rather just sell them and be done --- but they won't open up their purse to grab a set.... There still are great Spark Plugs (like my J 11 Champion , 44 A C and a thousand others....) They are *** N O T *** " a buck a plug " though, anymore..... Price any real 3X Plugs for the Model A s recently ?!?!

marcapra, That is --- exactly --- the reason for a hotter spark plug..... to burn through oil on a worn motor.... Both the A7 and A10 in Autolite -- or AR 7 and AR 10 in resistor plugs in Autolite are very cold plugs.... I wouldn't really get hung up on utilizing an AR 10 Autolite plug in a Flathead six motor --- the 218, 230, 261, etc., etc.... They are a plenty cold plug / recommended and called for --- and, of course, Non Extended Tip plug --- you certainly don't want to burn a hole in the piston !!!! Craig..... If you want absolute perfection--- as indicated above ^^^, I have (I checked) exactly Seven (7) --- J 11 Champion U.S.A. N.O.S. / Toledo, Ohio Spark Plugs.....

I suppose that is now where it is " hangin ' around " !!!

The old flathead sixes used a cold / short reach / Non extended tip spark plug.... From the factory, J 11 Champion ( I have a couple sets of them presently...) A 7 or A10 ( a little hotter) --- or AR 7 or AR 10 is the equivalent in Autolite.... A = 14 mm , R = Resistor ..... Those will be fine.... Craig...
