  1. The wood in these look pretty good. You might try to sawzall through the rims without cutting into the wood felloe and pry them off. Where the two halves of the felloe come together there is a clamp. You might have to chisel the rubber out and grind out the stem of that clamp through the rim but good clincher rims could be squeezed back on the wheels and maybe used again. The stem of the clamp would need to weld to the new rim again, there would need to be a hole there and a quick heliarc weld would be best. At the price of rewooding some of these wheels,it may be worth the effort by someone that has more time than money.
  2. An old fellow named Leonard Short used to come to the Chickasha swapmeet and he ate, slept, breathed and collected Haynes automobiles. He is no longer with us,but maybe his family could be tracked down and see if anything related could still be around. I think he lived in Texas. It's possible Mike Ersland could also be some help with the swapmeet records.
  3. I recognize the blue thing in the package above the shoes as a toilet tank flapper valve.

    1936 Buick

Miguel,I clicked on 1936 Buick Headlight" on ebay and lots of other unrelated stuff came up along with the partial pair I had listed. I clicked on your link and yours came up but it gave me sticker shock. Mine were listed at $185 for the pair shipping included. I remember when yours was on the What is It site and I inquired about it. I ended the listing on mine tonight and plan to put them back on the shell again, maybe some ratrodder will be interested this time. You might think about promoting that one of yours, maybe it will come up in a search. Isn't ebay just a little maddening.
  5. All supposition to this point since we can't get an upclose look.. It's up against a fence in front,no room for a horse to pull it up there. Looks like the right front wheel is off for repair or something. We really can't tell if the little wheels have any slack to move or not but I think they do. At this point,I think centrifical force throws them out where they tighten against the outer rim and propel the thing, whatever it is. Probably not used much for mid-bogging.
  6. I think Pete has something, they do look like 12 cylinder engines.
  7. You might take it into NAPA and let them look through their books, there may be a modern version that will work just fine.
  8. 12Staver is pretty much right on. If the tire is left on and stored out in the weather, water gets in between and never evaporates and never stops rusting the rim away. If you look down between the tire and rim edge on both sides and see little if any scaling, the rim might be okay. Look on the back side where you can see the wheel edges where they are riveted to the rim. If part of that edge is rusted away or you can see rustout coming through the rim,the likely only value is in the lockring and maybe the tire for a roller. It'll be hard to get enough out of it to make it worthwhile to ship. But it depends on how bad someone needs it that can't get to the likely swapmeets, has some dough and will take the chance. That can be sent unboxed which will save time and money. FedEx Economy Ground would be my choice. Look it over real well,if there is little if any scaling and no gaping holes in the tire where it might hold air, list it on ebay for $189.95 shipping included to the lower continental 48. That's probably about enough out of me.
  9. We had Condon and Skelly on our 15 Cadillac but after it sold there were only projects left,no drivers. No mention of them here, are they gone? I compared their rates to others back then and they were always cheaper,we never had a claim so I can't say anything about the service. I'm pretty sure they would insure parts of a project being restored for use, what about the above mentioned companies? Lots of really good information here.
  10. I wonder if that might be sort of a friction drive thing instead of a clutch or planetary engagement.
  11. It's a Budd-Michelin wheel used extensively by the above mentioned Dodge Bros in the mid twenties at that size but also most medium series Nash,Studebaker and many others of the day. They also came in four and six lug versions depending on the size and weight of the car and I've seen up to 25" on teens cars.
  12. The tires appear to be about 700 or 750 x 19,that sidemount cover doesn't look like it would come even close to covering one of them.
  13. Guy,It's an updraft carb, that iron adapter is not Cadillac but adapts it to who knows what. It does look early 20's.
  14. I'm guessing that truly would be a rare emblem. I bought this Cadillac emblem at the Iola swapmeet between 30 and 40 years ago. It's heavy brass with the cloisonne areas similar to a radiator emblem. The vendor said it and others like it were on the walls of the elevators in the Cadillac bldg in Detroit if memory serves. He also had some really pretty doorknobs with these emblems, now I wish I had gotten them too but sometimes this Caddy stuff has too many zeros in the prices. Anyway, maybe the emblem in the OP was on a door or something else in the factory. An old guy told me the original Cadillac bldg has a corner stone with the emblem chiseled in it,for a few years I was going to head there with a hammer and chisel and see.
  15. Something in the memory bank tells me Renault on the lower one but I can't swear to it.
  16. I have the whole shebang if anyone is interested.
  17. The Complete Encyclopedia of Motorcars says a Shad-Wyck was in fact a Bour-Davis assembled by Shadburne Brothers after the first failure of the Bour-Davis company in 1917. Then it says about 25 cars were made under the name Shad-Wyck. So you may have an original emblem that didn't have a car to go on.
  18. I really want to thank everyone who contributed to the ID of these parts,I got way more than I expected. As usual Rich the Handleman is right on top of it. Thanks again one and all.
  19. The parts were ID'd by the previous owner as 29 Plymouth but I think they are late 30. Any ideas which of these is Plymouth and what the other might be? One set in wood, the other in metal but actual regulators very similar. Thanks for any help.
  20. Oops,I should have read more carefully,my V-12 is Seagrave.
  21. I have a block with crank, heads, bell housing, few other parts if interested. It's very clean, came out of a Colorado estate,I think it was going back together. Don't know year. I also have an Ahrens Fox chrome ball, early one with the strap around it if that trips your trigger. Located in Cheyenne,Wyoming,PM me if you want pics and more information.
