  1. WG is Warner Gear,I can't recall any association with Ford but maybe there was.
  2. One of the authors of that top book looks like C B Glasscock, how would you like to go through school with that name?
  3. There is a guy back East named Dave(?) Jordan that would be a candidate for the larger one. A few years ago I sent him a wire wheel and a Jordan script gas gauge. If I can find his info I'll PM it to you.
  4. I can't see the ends but it looks pretty close to the same critter.
  5. I have lost track where these even came from but would like to get them identified. The channels on the right are 25" long, narrow pair 21 1/4" long, that stainless channel is 30 1/2" long. Appreciate any help.
  6. I believe it's from one of those cars that had the headlights mounted high up. The bar is 41 1/2" long including the brackets. The outside fork comes off the bracket, the inside fork is 7 1/2" long, spread is 9 1/4,mounting holes are about 2 1/2" apart on center. The only two I can think of are Hupp and Paige, anyone have any ideas? Thanks.
  7. I thought if the picture was taken in Nov or Dec it could be either year but I see now it was taken in June so that pretty much limits it to a 1925.
  8. Walt,That name is on the back of the emblem so I was familar with it. I still appreciate the note.
  9. Wow,That was quite a read. Definitely a rundown on the history of the company, thanks much.
  10. That little wheel and tire has a gear on it,it may be off one of those tethered racers powered by an airplane engine. Those things seemed to be big bucks for awhile.
  11. The name Lovejoy came from Elmer Lovejoy of Laramie Wyoming. He designed and patented the shock and I've heard some aircraft models are still using his design. Laramie is 49 miles West of here(Cheyenne) and between here and there is the high point on I-80 West of the Mississippi at 8640'.
  12. On the teens V-8 engines and I believe also on the 20's the serial number is stamped into the aluminum crankcase at the back of the right side. Where the cylinders bolt to it,there is a little extra flat surface there and you should be able to find it. If you post the number the first one of us to see it should be able to give you the year. If that engine has been uncovered over the years then unfortunately moisture has been able to run into the intake and exhaust holes to cause a rusty, scaley mess inside the cylinders.
  13. I think that's big International truck 40's or 50's.
  14. This guy is still in desperate need of a top frame for his car. He's saying DeSoto,Dodge and Plymouth are all the same that year, possibly even a smaller Chrysler. I can understand someone not wanting to send off their top so someone could reproduce it,but if they could get it reproduced locally,he would pay for that. Pictures and measurements would even help. He bought a rough body only and has brought it back from the dead doing most of the work himself. Located in Denver. Really would appreciate any help anyone could give. Thanks.
  15. Murray body name is familiar but I can't put a car make with it. Any ideas on make and year? On the back of the top hat one there is Whitehead-Hoag,Newark N.J. Appreciate any info.
  16. There is a nub on the opposite end of the outlet, maybe there is an inlet that doesn't show in the picture. Could it be an electric fuel pump although smaller than any I have seen.?
  17. I'm about 1300 miles West of Cleveland in SE Wyoming. Couple guys I know or knew in St Louis,Sonny Elliott and Jim Pearson used to do mainly just Caddys, left a msg at an old number I had for them but haven't heard back. We had a nice older restored 15 7-pass touring for 24 years so I am familiar with them. Lost it in the divorce. I'll try the Heinrichs tomorrow, suspect they're closed back there now. Thanks,Steve
  18. I don't know on the budget, that's something I'll have to talk over with the shop. I found a decent replacement 7 pass touring body and had it restored, been upgrading the pile for many years, better frame and axles, etc. Cadillac didn't have the first V-8 but did have the longest running production V-8 in the world I've read. Mine is a 1915,they made 13,001 of them, this one is number 26,believed to be the earliest one still in existence.
  19. Anyone know of a good restoration shop experienced in rebuilding the pre removable head Cadillac V-8 engines (1915-17)? Or maybe the whole chassis? It was rough, rusty and stripped when I got it out of the Pollard collection many years ago but not much wear on the spring shackles so it may be fairly low miles. Appreciate any leads on good experiences you've had. Thanks,Steve P.S. PM me or post here.
  20. If you think the choke knob closely matches the other knobs on the dash, could you post a pic or two of the others?
  21. To me it looks like one of those accessory trunks that sat on a big apron covering most of the lower back section of the body. I have seen Potter brand trunks with aprons for 34 Fords that had a cutout for the spare carrier arm. Many had a cutout for the gas filler. A company called Galaxy also made them. Many of the trunks survived, not so many aprons.
  22. This Chrysler body is in an old closed up junkyard three or four hours North of here,I'm guessing '31 but might be later. Unfortunately I didn't get pictures of the interior other than that dash. If it has mldgs and you think they would work,I can ask him next time I'm up there.
  23. Didn't the Olds V-8 in the teens use one of these in some form or other?
  24. Your ad is in the "FOR SALE" section,it should really be over in "PARTS WANTED" for best results. Good luck.
