As far as "limited production", only by the number of people who would buy one, which was 2,591. Just the same, solid original examples are hard to find now.
  2. Radial tires make it set lower than if it had bias plies. This is just a good cheap old Plymouth to enjoy on nice days driving the country roads.
  3. I'll leave that to a Corvair fan/mechanic to answer. But I seem to recall when those were in regular use, it was common to see the whole rear jacked up with the engine etc all pulled out as a unit. These didn't last long in the Northeast, rust ate them alive very quickly.

  10. I wish they had included a photo inside the trunk so we could see the inside wheelhouse. I'll never forget how shocked I was when I saw that area on the the '40 Darrin that belonged to the late Lisle Hopkins, the metal was crudely cut in a radial pattern around the wheel center, overlapped as the deck was rotated down in the front and raised in the rear and hammer-welded together. In my one and only conversation with Jim Hollingsworth at the Centennial, he referred to them as "Darrin's cut-'n-paste customs" Hehehehe... that's good, and very apt...!
  11. 1955 Plymouth Savoy - $5000 - Colville, WA https://spokane.craigslist.org/cto/d/colville-1955-plymouth-savoy/7168348832.html Enjoy a classic car for not much cost. Everything works. 12. The right side door lays inside, the door handle and upper surface show in the third photo looking forward along the right side. The hood vents look to be 120. The taillights are 120.
  13. 1963 Cadillac Fleetwood 60 Special - $9500 - Buckley, WA https://seattle.craigslist.org/skc/cto/d/south-prairie-1963-cadillac-fleetwood/7166006201.html Cleaning out dad’s shop!1963 Cadillac Fleetwood 60 Special. Sprayed the cobwebs off the car. New exhaust. Car runs, drives stops. Wouldn’t recommend driving a great distance as tires are older. Was repainted by someone in the 80s who had no experience. Areas of orange peel and not so good prep. 20 footer. Planned on having it repainted but plans changed. Not all rusty. Interior is really nice. Power windows, vacuum locks and soft-close trunk. You were really someone if you were driving this around in ‘63. If you’re looking for a cool summer cruiser that you can tinker on for under 10k, look no further! 14. For those financially capable, your chance to have a 1940 Packard Darrin trimmed and finished to your exact taste. Why worry about the expense? Note this Citizens Motor Car Co. advertisement was September 15, 1940, clearance time to get those soon-to-be discounted leftover 1940 models off the lot. The introduction day for the new Nineteenth Series 1941 Packard: September 16, 1940.
  15. 1941 Plymouth Special Deluxe Woodie - $45000 - Sun City, CA https://orangecounty.craigslist.org/cto/d/menifee-1941-plymouth-special-deluxe/7162934489.html 1941 Plymouth Woodie Special Deluxe for sale. 16. A better look: Cycle-fenders and step-plates, horn mounted outside...Stutz?
  17. This is a great photo! The Pierce Great Arrow was expensive too: $6,000. Just conjecture, but it appears to be a successful father, his sons and their chauffeur. Choice of location with the bridge in the background suggest the source of this gentleman's wealth might have been as a bridge construction contractor.
  18. My grandfather Dutch was a '"Shivvy" man, a '40. '47, '61 Biscayne. '67 Bel Air, '73 Chevelle and '80 Malibu. Only a few Fords in between, a '50 which he won at a fireman's raffle, a '56 Customline hardtop and a '67 Custom which was his last work car.
  19. For better proportions, the top would be the lower height of those on the '30 734 Speedster sedan and five passenger coupe. Because Packard was clever in its chassis apportioning, the firewall-to-rear-axle distance was the same for 133", 140" and 145" wheelbase models so they were able to share standard body styles across the lines.
  20. Useful parts: The stainless belt-line trim that's unique to the convertible, the continental kit extensions and splash pan. The rear fender ends are Caribbean-only that were grafted onto the standard rear fenders, the seam are about 24" forward. The hood is Caribbean specific but looks beyond repair. top mechanism as well, though the header bow looks pretty badly rusted, the folding arms etc would still be useful.
  21. 1954 Packard Caribbean convertible. Not much left of it.

  23. 1962 Pontiac Tempest 4-door - $2500 - Sayville, NY https://longisland.craigslist.org/cto/d/west-sayville-1962-pontiac-tempest-4/7167614863.html Don’t have the time to maintain this thing anymore, it deserves better. White/Blue exterior, blue interior. Radio works, all lights interior/exterior work. Comfy adjustable seats. Spare vent windows included Engine is OK, timing is a bit off, needs some work on the weather protection on the passenger side. Engine doesn’t start in current condition but is fine to drive after that is fixed. Cannot be parked on a steep slope (parking brake is weak). Paint generally good but beginning to peel and rust a bit, probably a cheap fix. Aside from these issues it has no problems. Text me for more pictures/information.
