  1. Feast your eyes on this '30 745 roadster, Hershey Green Field 1996. When you encounter a car this magnificent, you don't forget it.
  2. Yes, prints, I'll have to dig them out, digitize and post them. Stand by.
  3. What a gorgeous rendering! This 745 coupe would be a case where finishing it to match the colors in the rendering would be desirable. Heresy to suggest, but the top height on the rendering looks like that of the '30 734 Speedster sedan or five passenger coupe...
  4. Yes, Transfers of high quality coach-built custom bodies from the older luxury car chassis to a new one were performed during the 1930's by various custom coach-builders in addition to their new coach-building work. There are a number of such Packards and luxury makes still extant.
  5. More photos: BTW: It is a landaulette, note the latch mechanism and seam in the second to last photo.

  7. The unfortunate blue car was a two door hardtop that met a terrible fate: a fellow with more enthusiasm than skills, one who started a vast project with half-vast ideas. Still it appears to have a major share of the parts needed to restore the tan hardtop. As I noted, for those who enjoy a challenging project.
  8. There is a '30 745 roadster without side mounts and two rear-mounted spares. I encountered it in the old Hershey Greenfield about twenty-five years ago, stunning proportions.
  9. Indeed they were. In the Kimes-edited Packard history, the 745 was created by mounting the engine five inches rearward, adding a fan shroud for cooling, lengthening the front edge of the hood five inches including the hallmark 'barb' and the long, sweeping front fenders. For custom coachbuilders that needed more firewall to rear axle space, they built the 745C which has the long sweeping fenders but engine mounted as the 740 and the 740 hood length. Reason for the 745? Impressive proportions and elan!
  10. Two 1959 Edsel Rangers - project - $3500 - Barker, NY https://buffalo.craigslist.org/cto/d/barker-two-1959-edsel-rangers/7162626422.html Selling this 1959 Edsel Ranger, runs and drives. It was torn down for new paint 25 years ago. The gentleman passed before finishing it. I have too many projects right now to finish it myself. Yes it runs and drives. From what I can see there is no rust, just a few dings. No carpet. It has brand new dual exhaust (25yrs ago) tires stay up. I've been told everything is there to finish it, with the exception of the rocker moldings. Paint it to your liking and put it back together.. Also have a 59 Ranger parts car from Florida to go with it. $3500 for the pair. Call evenings or text anytime May consider trades antique tractor/ 40s/50s/60s vehicle of equal value... No I don't need help selling it! And keep your negative comments to yourself... Contact: Bill (716) three-4-1-one-1-4-0. Note: Posted primarily because the one Edsel is a manual shift and the parts car holds enough parts to restore one car for those who enjoy a challenging project.
  11. LaSalle, beginning with its introduction, was promoted with great emphasis that it was "companion to Cadillac' and 'built in the Cadillac factory with Cadillac quality". The two nameplates became inextricably linked in the public mind, just as Cadillac intended. As with other such linked naming, such as 'Chrysler Imperial', Lincoln Continental', 'Nash Rambler' etc., regardless of any marketing decision to separate the names later, the linking remains.
  12. Bent rear fender and bald tires, definitely a well-used Hupmobile roadster when the photo was taken.
  13. A 1936-'38 Cadillac Series 60 coupe, the smallest Cadillac but with the power-to-weight ratio of a Buick Century.
  14. How about replacing those underwhelming '62 Chrysler taillights with a set from the '63 Dodge Custom 880, bolts right on...
  15. 1940 Cadillac LaSalle 50 Convertible Sedan - $11900 - Westfield, MA https://westernmass.craigslist.org/cto/d/westfield-1940-cadillac-lasalle/7162357116.html 1940 Cadillac LaSalle convertible sedan. Last on the road in 1957 and been stored indoors ever since. Presently not running, however the motor is not seized and will turn over by hand. I'm sure with some tinkering it will run again. Odometer is showing a little over 81,000 miles. Car will need a complete restoration. All glass is intact, none broken. Also have the rear window with chrome molding (not shown in photos). Floors are solid, but will need some work on the outer area of rocker panels. A 1940 hardtop sedan parts car is also available at extra cost. Will listen to any offers made. Contact: no phone listed. 20. This Mt. Washington view warrants a better look. It appears to be a right hand drive Pierce-Arrow.
  21. It might also be a 1928 Locomobile 8-80 or 1929 Model 80, 86 or 88 on a 130" wheelbase, Lycoming 298.6 ci 4HL or HDL. A four passenger Collegiate Coupe is listed in the Standard Catalog by Clark and Kimes. At 1,112 cars for 1928 and 327 for 1929, one wonders how they kept the light on as long as they did. If Billy Durant could just have focused his interest on auto-making...
