  1. 1949 CROSLEY HOTSHOT roadster - $10,900 - Eagle Point, OR https://sacramento.craigslist.org/cto/d/white-city-rare-1949-crosley-hotshot/7154565666.html We decided to sell a delightful project, this 1949 Crosley Hotshot. We polished it up so it could go in the Patriots Cruise on the 4th of July. It got so much attention! It looks great, runs great, stops on a dime, has a new battery, gas tank, gas lines, filters, hoses, lines, and the tires still have the little stubs on them. It has disc brakes that are almost new. The transmission has been gone through. It has older paint but still looks decent and there are no obvious dents or dings. The engine has been completely gone through and it drives really nice! It has a tiny triangle tear in the drivers seat. There are less than 29 thousand miles on the odometer. I have three others and no time for this one. The Hotshot was the first sports car made in America. This car was made in 1949, their first year for the Hotshot, and they made them until 1952, when Crosley went out of business. Crosleys are tiny cars, and extremely popular. They are very rare, especially on the west coast. Mine have won many trophies, including Best of Show. If you are interested, it is located in Eagle Point, Oregon. Asking $10,900 or best offer. You will have to name it.Happy to deliver it. 3. Note the rear door hinge is still in place, this is a conversion of a taxi sedan. If it were factory-built, the wrecker body sides would be one piece panels. It resides in the Gilmore-CCCA Museum Checker collection, they have the historical background on how it came to be. Survival of the '30's Checker Model Y is near zero.
  4. The W-K Model 56 was the entry-level series, 178 ci six, 109" wb, really something of a Whippet with a Knight engine, though priced around $1000 whereas the Whippet 98A for $800. A preserved original 56 showed up here in western New York a few years ago.

  8. Typical, the response rate for Craigslist emails is terrible. Roca, Nebraska is tiny 220 people, someone has to know who owns this '50 Pontiac. Maybe the post office?
  9. By the red ball, I'd second '37 Studebaker.

  11. Its a twin or dead-ringer for our family doctor, Dr. Schneckenberger's '50 Pontiac when I was a kid, right down to the two-tone green.
  12. Too bad this '26 Hudson Super Six isn't a touring car: https://portland.craigslist.org/wsc/cto/d/kennewick-1926-hudson/7154184811.html

  14. 1950 Pontiac Chieftain DeLuxe - $10000 - Roca, NE https://lincoln.craigslist.org/cto/d/roca-1950-pontiac-chieftain-deluxe/7154628837.html My grandmother bought this 4-door sedan new 70 years ago with a straight-8 cylinder engine and a Hydra-Matic transmission. It was restored in 1997 using an engine with less than 26K miles on it and the transmission was rebuilt. Since then it's been garage stored and driven less than 300 miles. An oil and filter change has been made, a new fuel pump and battery were installed, new spark plugs and wires were added, the front brakes were repaired, and all fluids have been checked. The car came loaded with options: radio, antenna, wind visor, traffic light viewer, fender skirts, wheel covers, WW tires, direction signals, clock, outside RV mirror, back-up lights, gas filler trim, and an under-hood trouble light. Its condition is better than good. 15. Indeed, the 1958 Lincolns and Continentals are an acquired taste. My bad taste was formed at six years old when I saw my first '58, instantly smitten... I know, strange little kid...

  18. Installing an overdrive set-up and correct differential ratio from the same year Ford would be an option for this car.
  19. Essentially none. The FE engine would be either a 332 ci or a 361 ci V8. 352 ci weren't optional for the '59 Edsel. If you are considering the red and white '59 Ranger posted in the Cars For Sale section, that car is listed as having a 361.
  20. You're on to my game! Showing by example there are old cars that can be bought for reasonable money to get into the hobby.

  23. This one: https://orlando.craigslist.org/cto/d/haines-city-antique-fire-truck-dodge/7154448268.html
  24. Although its hard to tell from the photos, this car does appears not to have had rockers, dog-legs or wheelhouses body-worked, which is atypical for '55-'56 Fords in the Northeast. These areas appear very straight, compare well with factory photos of '56 Fords. If upon close inspection this car is solid, it goes a long way toward making it a good choice.
  25. Artillery wheels maybe? Wires go with convertibles usually. Chromed artillery wheels were optional from a few carmakers at the time. Auburn experts will have to weigh in.
