Interesting Buick, unfortunate choice of blues. The 1931-'33 Series 80 are something of a 'performance' car: 345 ci straight eight shared with the Series 90 but in a 124", 126" and 130" wheelbase chassis. The Series 90 wheelbases were eight inches longer the corresponding model years.

The essential aesthetic appeal of an innocuous color such as this warm gray is it allows the car's design, proportions, details and surface developments to be completely visible to their best advantage. Its subtlety is its greatest asset, not demanding attention.

Side-mounts, while lending an imposing look to large Classic Era makes, as Ron Hausmann notes, imparts a sporty air to late 19-teens to mid-late-1920's cars with close form-fitting or cycle-style fenders and step-plates:

The ribbed nylon material was notorious for sunlight fading which can be seen comparing the seating surfaces to the folded down armrest. It also split along those ribs even in cars with relatively light use. Select a quality black material of similar appearance and re-upholster all seats for a proper job.
