  1. I would agree with you on most of the 1960 Fords, but IMO the Starliner with the fastback roof line is a beautiful car.
  2. You wouldn't have to make two trips to the store with this "grocery getter"
  3. WOW!!!! Be the first one in your neighborhood, or your town to own a sharp car that looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor.
  4. My best friend had a '57 that he bought when he got out of the service. Great car, if I was smart, I would have bought it when he sold it. I am fairly certain that these cars did not come with the continental kit, so there had to be a way to change the tire. I have to agree with Mr. DEAC on this, as the convenience of changing the tire is not worth ruining the looks of the car. Big fan of these cars that were only built in '57,'58 and '59.
  5. I owned a 1950 Studebaker Champion back in my teens, it was given to me by a friend of the family. It was a very simple and reliable car, but not very popular style wise. I sold it for $25 and figured that I was ahead of the game. Straight looking car.
  6. I recall that when I lived in SE Michigan during the '90s that a Yugo was crossing the Mackinac Bridge and a gust of wind lifted the car up and off the bridge. Made me nervous when crossing the bridge years later.
  7. The skirts look absolutely beautiful on this car, I got a pair from Matt Harwood and will put them on in the spring. Beautiful car Ken.
  8. You are correct Chris, the material alone cost me 6k to replace my interior with the Bedford Cord that belongs in this car. That was not including the headliner. If the seat cover is hiding the real deal, then never mind.
  9. Still looking for that Gravel Deflector that fits in-between the trunk and bumper. Off the GM parts book, part is shown in section 7.833. Any help here would be greatly appreciated.
  10. No "B" pillar and the stainless trim really puts this one over the top for me. Can't go wrong with red and black. Very nice car at a reasonable price IMO.
  11. Sure looks beautiful to me. I'm sure that if you bought it you would have the only one on your block.
  12. Regarding the price, I have seen two Buick Super convertibles (can't recall if they were '40 or '41) priced around 50k this past year that did not move very quickly. I don't think that this car belongs in the same category as the Super. Maybe half the price.
  13. I do recall as my sisters boy friend had a dark blue 62 Galaxie 500 before he got the 63-1/2 and it had a 406 with the 3-2s. This was in the later 60s maybe 65. The car was very fast inspite of the added weight.
  14. I thought about the changes that were occurring a little later and remembered that my sister bought a 1964 Fairlane Sport Coupe around the same time. silver with black interior (very sharp looking car) this was when Ford was campaigning the Thunderbolt (Fairlane with the 427)
  15. When I first looked at the car the lower section appeared to be coral. The description does say pink. Either way it is a beautiful car.
  16. When I was in high school my sisters boyfriend had a black 63-12 XL with the 427. I still remember how beautiful that car was and the Saturdays spent at the dragstrip. Those were some good times. The 63 Box Top had the option of a 406 with tri power.
  17. I agree with everything you said, the glove box also has the xl label and the fenders too. If you put all of the work into this car you still have the box top 63 instead of the more desirable fastback 63-1/2. Be patient, the right car will come along, they built a ton of these cars.
  18. I would not have posted the pic of the trunk. Certainly the car has a trunk and it is nice to know that you have the air cleaner, but what is all the rest of that stuff? I did notice the spare speedo. Why not clean out the trunk and take separate pics of spare parts and a clean trunk?
