1. Thanks for previous pictures. Do you think that your frame is as shown in my last post? The pictures in this post did not come thru. Please resend.
2. Check out post #61. These tail lights look like a match to my tail light except for the side mount. Side mount required because there is no cross member there. They may have used same mounting arm but just bent the mounting arm 90 degrees.
3. Is this your frame for the DA 124? If so the main rear cross member (closet to the differential) has gusset plates shown. The other rear cross member is not a main support. Not to sure my rear crossmember works for your application.
4. QUOTE=30DodgePanel;1147939]Here, this is why I need the answers for the tail light mounting location and the rear cross member. These pics are of my truck, hard to get to right now and hard to see but this shows holes on both sides of the frame that are similar. The larger square carrier bolt holes underneath are for the spare tire carrier, but are the 2 horizontal holes on the side of my frame for matching tail light brackets ? If so, it looks like this truck may have been equipped with dual tail lights because both sides of the frame have those matching holes. Also, at the very rear of the frame are 2 smaller holes on each side frame rail that I wonder if those are how a rear cross member is suppose to mount ? Edit: Sherman, I know your spare tire carrier mounts on the sides but in regards to the rear cross member, does yours show the 2 smaller holes under the frame at the very end , is that how your cross member bolts up or is it riveted possibly ? I just went out to my "bone yard" took a picture of whats left of my S 114xxx DE frame. I believe the DE and the DA 120 had the same frame. These are rivet connections. There are two smaller holes that mounts the tire carrier leg and a single larger hole for the tail light wire. This picture shows the gusset plate passenger side frame rail attached to the rear crossmember. The extra metal piece is an add on exhaust pipe bracket.
5. Yes the DA 120 has the same tail light as my DE. Both chassis frames are identical and I used the DA frame for my project. The Other frame was badly damaged in a previous accident. It appears to me the DA 124 frame is quite a different animal than mine. Both have the gusset plates attached to the main rear crossmember but The DA 124 has about a 1 foot extension pass the main crossmember with the gusset plates. My tail light bracket would work here. Dave- I would be curious if the other place to mount the tail light may be for a export truck. Dodge built frame to be used as export also (for example the steering and brake mount). The question is the single tail light on the export truck placed on opposite side as US truck?
6. This was the original carb and air silencer that was on the S114xxx DE model.
7. There are no #'s on the lite assembly. The picture shows the back of the lite and the spare tire mount. Does your frame have the rear cross member like mine? The gusset plates are attached to my side frame and rear cross member. I also inculed my air cleaner and carb picture.
8. The drawing was drawn in my Mirco-station cad program and then converted to PDF using the full Adobe Write program. The forum tread with download these file in the "manage attachments" section.
9. This is my PDF file showing the wood framework of these trucks. The components were made from notes and sketches of salvaged pattern pieces of my original "DE" screenside. I choose to use white oak which for my S 114xxx California truck would be correct. This oak is readly availiable in California. You will have to Adobe Reader installed to view and this is free download at their web site. dbmaster.pdf
10. I stopped wasting my time watching those idiots.
11. Jason what is on the previous page? Does it show earlier "E" series?
12. Jason you are correct I do have the book you mentioned and there is much information in there. It appears Graham's name appeared well into the 30's as a builder for Dodge. I noticed Graham on the ID plate for Farrelig's 32 Dodge 3 ton. This is a get journey of discovery and thanks for your input. Sherman
13. Stakeside here: The Dodge Bros Series E-DA 120 is my parts truck. The frame and running gear are the same as my Series "E" DE -120 model i would be interested in the e-mail you plan on sending. If you could cc me at sstake@surewest.net I would appreciate. Some of your research would apply to my trucks. Sherman
14. Long demension is 41 1/4" and height is 17 5/8". The support swevel is 11" from bottom. Note the heavy wood screws attaching the hinge to the oak header.
15. I will send a picture of my DE model frame and will get outside dimensions also. I will try to get to you by Tuesday.
16. Sure looks like my DE frame. Later books would have reference to Chrysler Corp. I could use a book like yours as a reference. Thanks for information.
17. Is there a picture of the frame similar to the attached picture from the Graham Bros manual. Your manual is for the model Series E -DA. I am not sure yet it this is the same as the DA 120. The shape of the frame would be of interest. This manual you have does not show any reference to Chrysler Corp is that correct?
18. Pictures show some wood work of the cab. Definitely not All Steel. Very nice truck. ClassicTruckCentral.com | Classic Trucks For Sale | 1931 Dodge Series F 1 1/2 ton Truck For Sale
19. All we can say mine is not a"ALL STEEL" cab. Do not know who build the steel panels for these trucks. Never saw a tag or stamp on my body or firewall.
20. My floor looks like this when I remove the 3/4" oak flooring. The area I was speaking of is the area between the cab and frame channel. The attached photo shows a portion below the steel seat box. All structural support behind the cowl door pillar is white oak. The cab skin is attached with small nails. This not a Budd All Steel body
21. I would guess a DeSoto or Chrysler but have no proof except these engines were used in Dodge applications.
22. This reference has good articles on both "F" and "G" series trucks. These articles were taken from back issues of Dodge Bros Club News. The reference does note that Dodge used DeSoto and Chrysler engines in various model trucks. This is a must have reference and is obtained through the Dodge Bros Club .
23. What engine am I looking at. Seems it should have a downdraft carb. What carb does it have. My previous post showed two front axle shapes. Does it have center support connection as my DE does?
