  1. My "E"3/4 ton Dodge Bros series has the "S" in frame #. I am in california and I believe the truck was assembled in Stockton CA. What years was this plant in operation? Were the cabs still built by Graham Bros? Is there supposed to be a metal badge naming the builder? I have wood thoughout the cab behind the firewall and cowl.
  2. My truck is a 3/4 ton 28 DB series "E". It has a six cylinder engine. Could you post some pictures of your truck. Iam always looking for any information on these Dodge or Graham trucks.
  3. Check out the Dodge Brothers AACA Forum for information on these trucks. I have submitted photos showing my 28 DB cab construction. in Oct. and Nov. forum. As a menber you can search my threads submitted by typing in my name "Stakeside" to retrieve those forums..
  4. This was taken from past forum. Note there is no mention of Chrsyler Corp hence is from pre-31 3/4 ton truck.
  5. Dave see attached picture. This is the my door header construction and it matches my pattern piece. I choose alder wood for both pieces Sherman
  6. Dave thanks for pictures. My 28 DB top has a curved header piece over the door. Yours look straight. It may be there were slight differences between plants they were built in. Sherman
  7. I believe that they are not T&G. They are only 1/4 inch thick, which would be hard to T&G. The photos I have seen show only a slight space between slats about that of a tumb tack. There are 30 slats of 1 3/4 inch width. I used 1/8 round router on edges and 1/8 round plunge router for center grooves. The picture shows another roof for a 27 Graham panel. I believe the engine is complete in these photos. The water jacket cover is fabricated. This is the H88XX block. This had a pot metal carb and older engine H79XX had bronze Stewart Carb.
  8. I am restoring a 28 Dodge Bros. Mine is the 3/4 ton "E" series Screenside. I have choosen to enclose the cab. All wood is white oak. Model: Sceenside, 120in, ¾ ton, DE Year Sold 1929 Motor # H79864 Frame # S114139 (frame was destroyed) Vehicle registration plate was found under driver’s side door. It showed model as DE and 120in wheelbase. The frame is noted as S114139. All other information on the plate is rusted out. <O:p</O:p Parts Truck Parts truck was purchased in <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com</st1:City><ST1:pSan Bernardino </ST1:pwrecking yard in early 1970’s. <O:p</O:p Model: Unknown, 120in, ¾ ton Year Sold 11/17/1931 Motor # H88314 Frame # S115179 (frame salvaged) <st1:State w:st="on"><ST1:p</ST1:p</st1:State> <!-- google_ad_section_end --><!-- google_ad_section_end --> <FIELDSET class=fieldset><LEGEND>Attached Thumbnails</LEGEND> </FIELDSET>
  9. I am restoring a 28 Dodge Bros. Mine is the 3/4 ton "E" series Screenside. The frame is flat with no arches at the end. The quarter windows appear to be larger then your truck. I also purchased a 31 dodoge bros for parts and was it identical to the 28 frame except the headlights were more streamlined. This is a bit of a mystery. Both frame #'s start with a "S". This means they were build in Stockton CA.<!-- google_ad_section_end --> I will attempt to send some photos. All wood is white oak. <!-- google_ad_section_end -->
  10. The parts truck did not have a complete cab and I do not know what model it was. I do know it was a 3/4 ton. The truck I am restoring was a sceenside. I have choose to enclose the cab a convert to a stakeside. I have some patterns but most was built from sratch. I will post some pictures later. I am in Sacramento CA if you care to see what I have.

The big problem with these trucks that the cab used wood for framework. If the truck was not garaged the wood ruts out. Fortunitly all my sheet metal was in good shape. I was able to fabricate the wood from white oak.
  12. I will use the slats shown in attached picture. The spacing and size match the outside cab width of 53”. I will cover with foil covered 5/16” jute material insulation I found at Restoration Supply Company in Escondido Ca.
  13. Thanks for information and photos. I am not sure if the top in your picture is tougue and groove. There appears to be an additional goove in the surface of the slats. I am restoreing as a cab truck with a stakeside bed. The cab is a little over 4' long.
  14. I am restoreing a 28 DB truck cab. I have completed all interior fabracation except for the roof. I do not have any pattern pieces to work from. The header/windshield support piece has 13 drill holes that may have been for wood screws. What is the wood type and demensions of the wood slats? Was the wood tougue and groove? I have seen a truck with 15 slats of wood with small gap between, but not sure it was original. Any information would be appreicated. The attached picture shows tougue and groove I believe.
  15. I am restoring a 28 Dodge Bros. Mine is the 3/4 ton "E" series Screenside. The frame is flat with no arches at the end. The last pictures shown look very similiar to mine. I also purchased a 31 dodoge bros or parts and was it identical to the 28 except the were more streamlined. Both frame #'s start with a "S". This means they were build in Stockton CA.
  16. I am helping my friends son get his 50 dodge running. It has a stock 6 engine. It was rewired using a wire kit with solderless connections. Does anyone have a wire diagram or know of a possible source.
  17. I did remove the wire in second diagram and it no longer blows a fuse. I recieved the original diagram from another member and I quess they had errors also. The first diagram is my final working diagram showing the location on an inline fuse. I am still would like to a diagram with the four terminal lite switch. It may be it will not work for a high beam\low beam headlight.
  18. I have got a wire diagram for my 28 "E" series truck. I have need information on two items. Item 1. The original shows a six terminal lite switch and mine has a four terminal. It is a Clum model 889. Is there a diagram showing for terminals? Item 2. The original shows a wire crossed out with red. I have to elimate this wire because it would blow fuses. All seem to work without it.
  19. I am looking for a wire diagram for a 28 "E" series truck. The lite switch has only four terminals and the firewall juncton block only has three teminals.
