  1. Found 25 DB Coupe on e-bay. Looks very original. I am afraid where will end up. Dodge : Other Business Coupe in Dodge | eBay Motors
  2. What engine is this? The distributor is on the side of the engine. Certaily not a Victory or DA 6. Does the owner have a frame or engine number? This must be a latter drive train. Maybe 31 or later.
  3. This is very confusing . The radiator shell is like my 29 "E" series, but 1) it has a different engine ( note the location of the distributor), 2) the door is like your DA 124, and 3) the dash is like your DA124. Looks a collection of parts to complete a truck. Looks like I will have to make a trip to Jamestown. Whats the frame number?
  4. Dave: Have you been reading this Thread "Chrysler 1929 series 75, wood on floor - doors and other"? It is located in Forum "AACA GENERAL DISCUSSION Our Cars & Restoration Projects. Has good discussion on wood.
  5. This a great candidate for the DEW 33x4 1/2 wood spokes. Sure looks a lot bigger than my DE 31x5.25 wood spokes. I received a page from Jason titled " Major Specifications of the Commercial Truck Chassis" models DE, DEW, and DEF, and this is my reference source. There is a pencil note on the page stating "Victory Engine" but the tire specs also applies to my DA-6. Thanks you all for information.
  6. The engine code should be "M". I wonder if GB even had the DA 6. If so there not be many. Dave: My S114xxx truck has the same carb/air silencer setup as shown in your picture. The S115xxx had the Stromberg U2 carb. Do not know what was the air silencer used. The previous picture posted shows your engine and the carb appears to be the Stromberg U2. This should the one.
  7. All my wood was replaced with white oak. It works well and looks good as I have posted pictures in many trends. I am considering painting the wood black as original but like the look of the oak. The original pattern pieces were oak. Definitely not ash or mahogany. White oak is very plentiful in the Stockton area where mine was built. Do not know of other areas. Another thing is to consider the the way the sawn or grain type.
  8. Looks like a Victory 6 to me. The generator is on the passenger side. Mine are DA 6's. H79864 and H88314. Tehcarb looks like my Steward and the air cleaner looks like mine also.
  9. I have successfully rebuilt a switch for my 29 dodge truck. Thought of building these and selling them but the time spent wouldn't make it cost effective. Mine is almost identical, except I have one less terminal. The material I used for the Bakelite cover was obtained from Restoration Supply Company . They have a heavy red colored pressed fabric. I had good hard parts to start with. Just had to cut holes and that is quite a trick. Used an old small socket and a heavy hammer.
  10. Is it the dealer modified the wheelbase by changing the rear spring configuration?
  11. Great looking truck. It's an Oldsmobile? Where there any registration plates with the name of company that did the conversion?
  12. I mounted my wiper. The wiper is inverted as shown in my previous post. Extra hose required to facilitate window open and close. My repair seems to hold well. I noticed the wiper motor in my Sacramento Vintage Ford parts book. Price was $245. They also have Tico repair kits and NOS ID plates.
  13. As they say "SOLD WELL". A happy seller I am sure at that price. Hope someone brings it back to original. Still wondering if anyone has used the "Hollander Parts Book"? I used it in the pass and it has a lot of interchange of part by different vehicles. It is availiable at Faxon Books. I should get mine in the mail monday, and will keep you informed.
  14. Looks like my DE model, if it is a 1 ton it would be a BE. There may be a lot of wood work to be gone but it is not that difficult. Lots of straight cuts. Not like the cars. Jason can check the frame number and the engine number?
  15. Purchased my truck in 70's and started working on it after I retired 7 years ago. I did restore the frame, running gear, and engine about 20 years ago. I just kept at it.
  16. Both trucks S114xxx and S115xxx had steel clad or armoured wire through out. I have replaced as original with armoured wire. The levers for both trucks are: toplever lights, left lever throttle, and right lever spark.
  17. If buy used be sure and check if the horn wire can be removed from smallest tube. My truck had a steel clad wire that was rusted in the tube. I had to replace the small tube and It had an attachment washer welded to it. Used a brake line tube and braised on the washer. I believe you have two levers on yours and mine has three levers: spark, throttle and lights.
  18. I checked my left pillar and found small notch at the top and an oval opening near the bottom of the dash board. This where the copper tube was routed. Better yet I found some of those old photos taken in the 70's showing the wiper and tube routing. Note the flat surface is inverted on the bottom so the tube exits on the left of the wiper motor. This proves to document your project well. It pays off in the end. .
  19. Referring to my recently purchased Operation Manual page 8, I see the vacuum hose on the drivers side as is my wiper. I do not have the wiper for the donor window frame. I have no idea where the vacuum tube is routed. Does your Operation manual show the vacuum tube?
  20. Looks like they dropped the 32x6 designation.
  21. There is the math 20+2x6=32, or your tire is a 32x6. Is that listed in your DA 124 manual?
  22. These vacuum wiper boxes were made of pot metal and as they age the metal becomes brittle. I would think drilling to adapt to other parts would not be a good decision. To have a functioning wiper would be of first importance and the pitting of the metal is just cosmetic. I noticed the that your vacuum connection is on the opposite side as mine.
  23. Completed my "MacGyver" repair and appears to be successful. The trick was to build a form to hold it while the JB Weld cured. Time will tell.
  24. Have anyone used the Hollander Interchange Guide to do your research ? I saw one once and there was much information.
