  1. The problem with offering things for free is people commit to taking it and then never show up.
  2. I’ll preface this by saying I’m nowhere near as knowledgeable on Buick’s naming system as others. As the owner of a ‘30 Buick, I’ve never heard the terms Standard and Master applied to this year. If Wikipedia is to be believed,Buick stopped using them in ‘28. I bring this up because I think calling your car a 40-Series will help others understand specifically what you are referring to. Good luck with the project and feel free to reach out if you need a picture for reference on any specific part. Mine is a 60-Series, but similar in many ways.
  3. It really comes down to budget. If you buy the lightest enclosed trailer you can find, you'll be under 5,000lbs which a properly equipped, newer 1/2-ton should handle with ease. You could also get a Cayenne. I towed with a TDI Touareg (same platform) that was rated to pull 7,700lbs. It was easily as good (maybe better) as my '06 Silverado 2500HD. Something else to consider is the trailer "escape" door. Since your GT3 has sizable rear weight bias, you will probably need to back it in to a 20' trailer to get the tongue weight right. This puts the escape door on the wrong side.
  4. According to the Buick Club Judging Handbook, it’s a 1930.
  5. I imported a car from England and titled it with the Illinois DMV (Motto: The Customer is Always Wrong). It was a while ago, but my recollection is they don't have titles as we know it. While it's likely not the same as PA, maybe part of my experience will be helpful. I needed to transfer ownership with the registration. This confused the folks at the DMV to no end. The wanted me to surrender the paperwork and send it to Springfield where somebody would figure things out. I refused as I didn't expect that to end well. I don't leave with a registration, I don't leave the paperwork. I went back on another day and got a different clerk who was more willing to help. Congrats on the purchase and good luck with the DMV.
  6. From the local Fox afiliate Driver faces charges of vehicular assault after crash in Chattaroy WSP = Washington State Police
  7. I didn't know those came with three cylinders. 🙂
  8. I think the formulation has changed with the ownership. My recollection of the last time I used it was less effective then it used to be. It did still do a number on my driveway though.

  10. I've got a '39 LeSalle 50, which I think is the same mechanicals under the skin. It really is a great driving car. The paint of the car for sale looks pretty poor to me, so that may hold back buyers. I also think the style was so good in it's day, it doesn't look Prewar. I prefer mine because of the design cues (like being taller, tear-drop headlamps and the pontoon fenders) that made it look out of date when it was new seem more "classic" 80+ years on.
  11. There’s one on eBay that’s a little cheaper. https://www.ebay.com/itm/325554376790 And one on Etsy https://www.etsy.com/listing/1358822150/1960-chrysler-corp-things-that-even-dads You can see the entire book here: http://comicsbin.blogspot.com/2010/10/chrysler-comic-things-that-even-dads.html
  12. This reminds me of The Test Driver Game (at the Chrysler Corp Proving Grounds) from Milton Bradley. It included a comic book.
  13. I'd wager there are more young car enthusiasts now then ever before. Your point above may be more of a reflection of where you spend your time vs. where they do.
  14. I'd like to get it and swap it into a Cimarron. If I made the dumb decision to buy it at that price, the least I can do is put it in a car worthy of my idiocy.
  15. The Capri was FWD while the Miata RWD. They brought a knife to a gun fight.
  16. Shame it’s not in central Ohio. I hear there’s an interest in this sort of thing there.
  17. Can you double check the link? It doesn’t seem to work.
  18. All these years I’ve spent searching for barn finds and it never occurred to me to simply ask where they were.
  19. He was referring to me. Fortunately, he didn’t actually draw a line as it would have seemed strange at the time.
  20. The next total eclipse is in August of ‘26, but it’s not in the US. A road trip to Greenland is all you need to do. 😁
  21. As my dad would say, “how high is up”?
