  1. I will try to find out what one of the companies I rep uses for Silicone Adhesive. I think it is some type of 3M product. I will keep you posted.
  2. Lance, I didn't think that Roadmasters had rubber floor mats as a floor covering? Are you talking about a full coverage floormat, or something that goes over the carpet? I am looking for a complete rubber floormat for the rear of my 57 Special as well. I bought the full front last year, black though. If you find someone who sells those, let me know. Thanks. Regards,
  3. Phil, I am not sure, but on a 1957 they have 2 manuals - one for chassis, and one for body. I don't know if that is the same for the 1950, but I would guess. The body manual addresses all the items pertaining to body, including glass installation and adjustment. Like Bob said, maybe you need to get that manual, if is out there. That may help with the problem you are having. Just a suggestion.. Regards,
  4. Willie, If you don't mind answering a few questions, what type of paint? and who mixed it? and do you have the formula / mixing information? If these are trade secrets, I'll understand. This has been an issue for a while, especially with Buick Man and myself, since I have been using Hirsch paint that I bought in 1990, which is phenomonally close to your color, and his is quite a bit more apple green...Thanks for any input you can provide.
  5. So..I might be involved in a "Buick-napping"?...Sounds mighty dangerous
  6. Serb, You are the man..I will PM you my address, if and when you find it, that would be great! Thank you so much..
  7. OK, you have piqued my interest..do you fly into DFW or Houston to get to this Bluebonnet / Buick / Shots and Beers with Old Tank and Mike event? It is ........cold here....
  8. Well, I'm not sure that the Century trunk floor will fit perfectly. It is a Series 60 car, with the same dimensions as the Series 40 special. It will be narrower by about 3 inches compared to the Roadmaster ( Series 70). An exact fit would be a Super (Series 50) or of course, a Roadmaster. Same with the trunk lid. You will need one from a Super or a Roadmaster as well. Buick was funny back then, because the 40/60 series vehicles shared commonality with the Olds 88, and the Buick 50/70 series vehicles shared commonality with the Cadillacs. As for the Bumper stuff..I have a full Front Bumper, if you need it. It will need to be rechromed, but it is all there. Drop me a PM if you are interested.
  9. Gary, I am looking for the vacuum tube that goes from the bottom of the PB Vacuum can to the PB booster. Let me know if you have that. Thanks.
  10. Rob, You never know..that could be an option at some point. I have been known to bid on those dog dish hub caps occasionally...Now about that manual transmission...Hmmm
  11. That explanation sounds a lot easier than the initial post on the r&r of the system. I may go for that extra HP from the dual exhaust yet..
  12. Bob, apparently the pinion didn't floss very often. Nice job. Patience is certainly your ally with this type of issue.
  13. Since you are trying to attach the silicone to a different substrate, i.e., steel, the cyanoacrylate should work, also might try a polyureathane type of glue (gorilla glue), or if you have a lot, try the one in the caulk tube as well. Silicone by nature is made to have a low surface friction, and like nickelroadster said, sticks extremely well to itself. Both of the above mentioned items should work for you. You also might look into a primer (not the paint kind) but one that is made for putting adhesive on rubber. 3M should have some, and they might be available from some industrial plastics / rubber firms. US Plastics might have it as well as TAP Plastics. Hope this sheds some light on what you are looking for.
  14. Thanks Bob...Geez, what a deal! I didn't know that you were Mr. Earl's sales manager... I think you were probably right on the 54 - 55 stuff..too bad it wasn't 57 stuff..I'm a softie for that..
  15. Lamar, I know youy love the 54's but what about us 57 guys..can't you show us some love to!
  16. You may want to check the post. It is 9 years old.
  17. John, Did not, but will though! Thanks for the tip. Hopefully they have one.
  18. Mr. Earl, I have to hand it to you..I love the way you price things Very ingenious methodolgy there...
  19. Hi out there! Does anyone have an extra copy or know how to get one of the June2007 issue of the Buick Bugle. From what I have been told, it features 1957 Buicks. Thanks for your help..
  20. Jan, You have to go just like you did, but it is called an '"avatar" not your profile picture. It took me a while to figure it out too! Hope that helps.
  21. Jan..you lucky bum! We're getting dumped on by the fluffly white stuff back here in MI! Glad the pix and info helped out.
  22. Wow! I guess having single exhaust on my 57 is a blessingin disguise here. R & R of the starter is a 5 - 10 min job. Thanks for the tips on the thread David. I was thinking of going the dual exhaust route, but now I may have to re-think that approach based on serviceability.
  23. TG, That makes sense, however there is a schematic in the Chassis service manual that shows the installation and makes reference to the location of the foot pedal and need to put a hole in the flooring (carpet or mat) and use a specific grommet. That's what got me wondering if there was a dealer installed option on the Wonderbar as well. Per Sean's order sheet, the radio on all vehicles models were an option, either with or without power antenna. And, since the power antenna switch is located in two different locations on two different RM's (yours and David's), I was trying to connect the dots and figure that maybe the radio could be a dealer install as well. Maybe I am making something out of nothing, but it begs the question.. Thanks for the offer on the Photofact. Could you shoot me one? PM me and I will send you my email address. Thanks.
  24. Cube, Try Inline Tube - Preformed Stainless & OEM Brake Line Sets. They make pretty much everything for classic brake systems. If they dont have it, they may give you some ideas where to find it. You also migh check a really good plumbing supply store for fittings. Big box stores have some, but not like you probably need. Hope this helps. The car is looking sweet...you are right about the new skins on the re-done wheels..nice:)
