  2. It wasn't just Cadillac, many car manufacturers would do it to the cars that were used in new car shows or display tours. The factory warranty would still be honored.
  3. I have a late 1920s NOS red V belt that is hard as a rock. It was hanging on a nail until 1996
  4. That is one long run on sentence. Unfortunately I had employees that wrote like that. I hate it when restore, restored and restoration are not used correctly.
  5. It was common in the 60s & 70s for people to bring me speedometers from cars they were working on to have the odometer set to match the cars actual mileage (?) or show 000000.0 for a complete restored car.
  6. It says on the back the names, date, and they are coming back home to Dumont. Dumont ,Mn is one of those towns that are just a hand full of people now.
  7. This shows Mercedes was way ahead of the times in 1917. Plastic lenses, sealed beam lights, down draft carb, mechanical fuel pump, rack an pinon steering, very advanced car in technology and styling.
  8. If I recall correctly the lower radiator hose is on the right side on the "29 De Soto.
  9. Wheaton Auto Klub was a dealer that sold Overlands and Whippets in Wheaton Minn. The two nearest the car are manufacturer reps. the owner is in coveralls with a tie the rest are the mechanics. They sold parts, did all repairs, fix flats, charge batteries, towing, winterize and store cars.
  10. The glass ones are a bit nicer than the plastic versions. E Bay or the H.A.M.B. site would be good places to sell them. Some States the blue lighting is reserved only for law enforcement. I have seen them used as side marker lights, warning lights and used in doors wired to the dome light.
  11. Automotive aftermarket There was one on E Bay a while back that had the instillation instructions. It went for around $175
  12. 1926 had the the six and four ribbons, the nickel colored one is for the 1928s.
  13. It is an early one around 1910, flat firewall, support rod going to the front, may be an aftermarket add on accessory.
  14. I was thinking 1929 / 30 Dodge and Plymouth. The Plymouth has a bent rear fender so the cars may be not be all that new. Notice the same insignia on both trailers. Is it Bail's Garage host and tour, my eyes aren't that good any more.
  15. I had to add an 1/8" red rubber ring to get the cap to line line up properly to the front.
  16. OK , he got the thing running (kind of ) and has told me that the ignition must be leaking.out through the exhaust . Most likely a stuck rings or worse time for a tear down. It has been sitting since 1985
  17. Growing up sitting on the top side of a PU bed going down the freeway I have a hard time with needing helmets, roll cages, airbags, rear view cameras, auto braking, GPS, etc in a car designed for about 40 MPH. Pay attention and enjoy the ride in the slow lane.
  18. By "dog house" do you mean the compete "front clip" ? A dog house was the slang term for the engine covers in vans.
  19. Wheels and hub caps are incorrect for 29s. Late 1926s and 27s had bullet head lights
  20. He knows about British cars and problems. He has a series 1 Land Rover 109. This is what I have on my CJ, ( he gave it to me )
  21. My brother just bought a 1968 Austin America for his kid. It is a bit rough. will not start ( no spark ) and the turn signals don't work. Should I tell him to put this in the battery or in the both coil and the flasher can ? I will forward responses to him.
  22. I use electrolysis for large parts, evapo-rust or rust beeter for the small parts. Many times people say to use stainless steel in electrolysis because it lasts longer. DO NOT use stainless, it is hazardous.
