There is another possible spot. You would have to remove the trim for the windshield to check though. There is a seam in the corners where the A pillar and lower windshield come together. If the windshield seal has hardened it could possibly leak under the windshield and run down the inside of the firewall. Just a thought. Loren@65GS.com -

I'm going to lean towards the engine compartment side of the heater box. I don't see how rainwater could get into the inside portion of the heater box without a way past the engine compartment side of the heater box. The engine compartment side is supposed to have a seal and with the age of your Skylark, it is very possible that the seal has deteriorated. Best of luck on your search and repair. Loren@65GS.com -

There is a spring and clamp on the engine compartment side of the steering column. I have seen the clamp move allowing the scenario you have. It will take two people to adjust the clamp in the engine compartment side. While one person pushes on the steering wheel, the other person adjusts the clamp. Loren@65GS.com -

The other day I spoke with My friend Dan that does these. The company that casts the lenses for him has had a rough time keeping up with the work load. It's a family business and they have been dealing with health issues. Loren

My apologies for not keeping you all in the loop. The hosting site for 65GS.com made some server changes and as a result, 65GS.com ended up being unavailable. The hosting site wouldn't accept that the problem was a result of their server update, and my webmaster wasn't able to gain access to search out the issue. I was about to give up on being able to restore 65GS.com until a member with programing experience came forward and managed to recover the forum. With many, many hours of work he has gotten 65GS.com back up and running. It's good to see that 65GS.com is appreciated. Loren@65GS.com

It has been nearly a month since the hosting site screwed up 65GS.com but it is now back Loren

There is NO ground wire in the '65 Skylark taillight harness. The taillights rely on the bulb socket having a good tight connection to the taillight housings themselves. If the bulb socket is not tight in the housing, NO lights. Poor design on Buick's part. The sockets can come dislodged from the hole in the housing very easily.
