  2. Then if one is a Restorationist....all cars look like the day they came from the factory....with only a little character added over the years
  3. Yeash.... When a car is this good while being this old the owner is merely its care taker for the next person to take over. Thanks for taking the time to listen to "our" side Farmer...you won't regret it.
  4. Thanks for sharing the pictures... It sure looks to be like you guys are having a ball! What a great way to celebrate the Landau, anyone who gets a picture is now a part of her history.
  5. Not my story but a funny one none the less....this was from Car Talk on NPR: The story goes that this young lad got his first car and was told to take very good care of it...and so he did. One day he noticed that he was missing a certain cap in the engine bay. He went right to the parts store and asked for the cap that was missing...described it as the "710" cap. This went on for a while with a 21 question session and it was not until the young lad drew what the cap looked like on a piece of paper. Ahh! the clerk said and went back to get the proper cap, which was simply.... ....the OIL cap More funny on radio as once you see 710 typed out here you sort of get the joke but it made me snicker a bit as I listened because I didn't know what a 710 cap was either.
  6. The man is creative...has the trailer all done up just for this Motorama Beauty. Might not show in this pic but if Peter gets a good shot at the back of that trailer you will see a creative license plate location for the trailer itself.
  7. Our Friend MrEarl is not far from the Landau rest assured The artwork on the back of Bob's carrier is a neat touch.... The man knows how to travel
  8. ...keep them coming Pete for those of us who could not make it. I remember an article "The Buick that slept for 55 years"(or something like that) a year ago....is this same 3000 mile car?
  9. Hell I just hurt my shoulder pulling the cord on my Polaris ATV...that kick back is a killer no matter what your yanking on! ...sorry, off topic>>>
  10. Lady landau....or Landau Linda....regardless it's a great pic! So the question is....is this the same girl, or some other Roadie Rhonda? Lamar and I have a side bet...don't we bud
  11. I am 37....I got my first Buick 1 year ago, so I guess that makes me the new generation. I'm also an Internet vet and i know what I am reading is NOT the common voice of the BCA community. These type forums give a very large voice to the loud and vocal minority....however, be that as it may at the grass roots level....The personal friend to friend level....this hobby is thriving as I see it. Does the Bugle/BCA membership cost more than some other achem....periodicals? You bet, but it certainly represents more than the text and images on it's pages. For that I will pay for gladly. ....pffft Its the cost of a tank of gas once a year.
  12. Yep....that's the way to do it. Good work Old-Tank!
  13. Well this girl....who just happens to be my Mother is not "On" a Buick but there is my Dad's Buick off to the side. I guess he thought more of her than the Buick. Good thing for me I guess :D:D
  14. My parents had two waggons like that...not sure if they were Buicks though... Its one thing to have a tailgate drop into the body...these guys have the whole side of the car opening up and going under. They must do a lot of structural fab work to make this work making it cost prohibitive.
  15. I don't even know if it is real.... Where the door goes there is some important stuff like frame rails???? Anyways...seems pretty neat, imagine one of the kids hitting the button as you are going down the freeway
  16. This is old but the first time I have seen it: Sorry if it has been posted before...I just thought this was really cool!
  17. Now wasn't that fortuitous for me... Thanks again, I have now been able to remove the glass from both front sides and will be working on the rear quarter glass today. Happy Canada Day to all you fellow Canuks!
  18. Yeash of course it should :o:o I guess I got mesmerized by those two wires.... Thanks, sometimes the mental block is baffling! Of course now I can reattach those two wires and then use the switch block to control all the windows for function testing
  19. On my '54 Roadmaster I need to raise the window to take it out. The car is completely dismantled. I simply thought that by applying the correct polarity of 12 vdc to the motor leads would do the trick....all I got was a small spark when it touched the lead and no jog from the actuator. Tried both ways...but only a touch. It worked when the car was together but now it seems not?
  20. We are all here for ya bud...stay strong.
  21. Find some old mechanic somewhere... ...then ask if his Dad is available for some carb work
  22. ...untill 55 that is when only the Special got 3, the rest 4.
  23. ....or some name that she can curse at and blame everything on opps did I just use my outside thoughts?
  24. To start a better place to request this is here: Buy/Sell - AACA Forums A good way to keep tabs on what is out there try Googling this: 1951 buick site:craigslist.org or 1951 buick site:ebay.com Also I would be remiss if I didn't suggest you join the BCA/AACA, the resources at our collective disposal is something that you would be smart to take advantage of Good luck with your search....
