Raise your hand if you drove at least one old Buick this weekend

Nice day for a short 52 mile ride down to Coventry and back up to North Scituate to take a photo in front of the Congregational Church. The only green grass I saw was near the Scituate reservoir. We haven’t seen a significant rain in months. -
Just sold my 1941 Roadmaster phaeton two weeks ago. My advice, Go with the Roadmaster if you can. It has a bigger engine and better overall performance.

Well this was taken last Friday. This was also my last ride in the 71C. I will always remember the great rides and times I have had with it. I am now off on my quest to locate a 1932-1934 club sedan, if they exist. -
If it is not the gas systems, how about and electronic ignition system? I have a Pertronix system in both of my 41’s and it seems to have eliminated that issue for me with one of my cars. Good luck!

I am looking for my next classic. I am looking for a 1932-1934 club sedan. The makes I am interested in are Buick, Packard and Pierce Arrow. If you know of one, please let let me know. It will have a good home where it will be driven and enjoyed. Thank you!

Nice day for a ride to northeast Connecticut. I like having lunch on the common in Thompson amongst the beautiful homes on the common. There is always something to see. There were several antiques that passed by. Most from the 60’s and 70’s, but two guys with a Chevrolet pickup stopped to chat. Like minds. We had a lot to talk about. I have also attached pictures of the Mason house that has been going under restoration for at least three years. It came out beautifully. The grounds are spectacular as well. -
From what I can remember I installed the new doughnut and the leak continued. I swapped it out for the doughnut that was already there which was different in shape. I cannot recall if it was fatter or not. With two 41's it sometimes gets blurred. I have replaced the y pipe in both of them. Good luck Neil.

I am exploring options for a cement garage floor. I painted a floor with a Home Depot recommended paint. That looked good for a couple of months and then peeled. I am looking for recommendations and flooring success stories. Thanks
-
I don't know if this will help you but I had the same issue. My solution was to reuse the old doughnut.

No. They were all the same. The spears will be shorter.

What year is this Gardner tail light lens?

Pretty cool. My guess is 22-23. -
Yea but the tires are still inflated. That must count for something.

Just came back from a morning drive over the Scituate dam. It’s just too warm in the sun to be in a convertible today. This will be day #5 with temperatures over 90. Humidity today is 75%. It’s ugly out there. A 55 Chevy was following me for a while. Hope it’s cooler out there on your drive. -
I am looking for a cup holder for my 1941 Buick that will be floor mounted (rested). Has anyone found a good product to account for the floor hump? It doesn't look like there are options for older cars. Thanks!

I took the model 41 out for a ride to get peaches and corn. The peaches sold out before I got there. I also went over the Scituate reservoir dam. It was 90 degrees and in a black car it is much warmer. I felt like my sneakers were melting. I got home and opened the hood to cool off the engine before I put it into the garage. Last Sunday I took the other Buick to the Bay State Auto Club show in Dedham. It was a great show. Our Minutemen Buick Chapter had a good showing. -
There will be a lot of discussion on types of oil you should use. The first question is, has the engine been rebuilt at some point recently? If the answer is no, then I would recommend a non detergent 30W. If it has been recently rebuilt then you can look to something more current like a 10W30.

I just came home from a local car show that is one mile from my house. I haven’t gone there in years because the cars are generally 60’s to 90’s. I like the prewar stuff, but these are now antiques too. What I saw there was great. Not so much the cars but that young people with young families and single women driving them. Just when I thought the hobby was dying off, it is not. It is just being reinvented. That along with the AACA upcoming open house, things are looking up. There was also a local celebrity, Tom Lafferiere there fresh from “The Great Race” in his award winning Packard 120. I am glad I went. My 21 year old nephew was there looking for his next car too.

Nice looking car but could look better if it were washed and brought outside to take some better pictures!
