  1. Try Bob’s Automobilia in California. They would be a good source for some of the items.
  2. Maybe the reason for the high price is, it is Al Capone's hat in the hat holder!
  3. That is highly unusual. Do you see any evidence it may have been removed?
  4. This would be on the sidewall when you open the hood to the car. In the USA it’s on the passenger side. On your car it may be on your driver side. This will tell you the cars story. Color, interior material and color, what series etc. take a picture and I/we can help. There are a lot of 1941 Buick experts on this forum and all will be happy to share their knowledge. Good luck.
  5. Thanks. I will check the springs if I can figure out how to get to them. That may be the issue.
  6. The data plate would help identify the components and specific model. The basic information for the VIN is that 1 is for the Flint Michigan plant. The engine number beginning with 4 indicates a 40 series which is a Special model with a 248 engine.
  7. Thank you both. I have done that. Got the temperature to 180. Opened the shutters manually. Made an adjustment to the arm. Tightened the nuts, and when it cools, the shutters stay open. What am I missing?
  8. I purchased my 37 Packard last year. The grill shutters were in the open position. I purchased a new thermostat. I can now manually open or shut the shutters but cannot get them to operate on their own. Can someone share the setting with me? I am not sure what to do next. Thanks!
  9. I guess I was fortunate. I purchased a Battery Butler from England about 10 years ago. I put it on a charge and it still works.
  10. I hope you have the clips. It took me 10 years of looking independently for a set. You could always reach out to Doug, but I didn’t want to pay full price.
  11. Call it weakness on my part, but Teddy wanted another ride in the Buick today. He must not have gotten his fill yesterday. It’s hard to deny those big brown eyes. Lol
  12. If you are in New England today, you should be driving your classic. Absolutely beautiful day. It felt like Fall this morning. I took the 41 Buick for a ride around the reservoir. When I got back home I felt it was too nice to leave the Packard in the garage, so we took a ride to visit the relatives and pick up lunch. Get out there if you can.
  13. Another unbelievable morning. Not quite 70 degrees and no humidity. Perfect morning for a ride in the 41 Special with Ted Ted. We went and did some banking and then out for an extended ride over and around the Scituate reservoir. I am trying to put off chores as long as possible.
  14. A great night for a drive after work. Yes, I am still working. There is nothing better when driving than looking down the hood of a Packard. I am smiling every time!
  15. We finally have a break from the hot and muggy weather. A storm came through last night and pushed the temperature and humidity down today. This morning felt like Fall. Great day for a ride in a black car with my buddy Teddy. Saw several antiques out for a ride as well including a 56 Roadmaster that went by.
  16. Went out for a ride in my 1937 Packard Super 8 Formal Sedan but forgot my phone!! So no pictures of the places I went. I had to settle for a picture after I got home! I will try to remember next time to bring my phone..try to remember.
  17. I have been looking down the hood of my 41 for 19 years. The car is without a doubt a 1941. I really like the congested roads. Lol
  18. Almost as much fun as driving my 41. Thanks for finding this!
  19. Went out for a short ride to purchase a winning lottery ticket for $2.00, so I could realize my dream of a 20 car garage filled with classics! And maybe one sporty European car too!
  20. Beautiful cars! Thanks for sharing! Love seeing the classics being driven.
  21. Looks like a lot of work needed here. From experience I would spend more money and get a better condition car. Another 10K should get you close.
