  1. Matt, that is a beauty. I think you might be a little optimistic at $20K but, I am not as close to the market as you are. I purchased a 1975 Electra 225 Ltd. the beginning of August. $11,500 with 18,500 miles on it for AACA and BDE, etc. Tours. I have put nearly 1300 miles on it since then, it is not too highly optioned but, the Limiteds came fairly well optioned. Working on the AACA mileage award and almost at the first award chip. (awarded at 2000 miles) The car has even won 3 out of 3 times at a Local BCA and 2 other local shows. It certainly gets a lot of attention. ;-) The Black color helps as they pop in Black. I sure hope you get somewhere near what will be asking for this one. They are great cars to cruise in. IMHO better than a comparable Cadillac, better looking and less ostentatious. Thanks for saving and trying to pass this beauty along.
  2. Hi. I just changed my hotel for the event from E. Harrisburg to the Hotel Hershey. Parking for Sat. night was a concern, and the travel time and hooking and unhooking the trailer to get to the awards banquet. My question is; Is it a good idea to park Friday (early morning) at the assigned trailer parking at the show, or park at the hotel and go to the show with my show car from the Hotel? Which way will be easier? My first time going to Hershey and looking for the least stressful way of doing it. I can go either way and am now confident of easy parking Sat. night at the hotel. Any and all comments are appreciated. I will be in class 36F with my 73 Buick for it's first showing since the restoration was completed.
  3. Went for a ride on Saturday North to Millbrook, NY around 120 miles or so round trip. Today was a local show by a friends newly formed Oldsmobile Chapter in Yorktown Heights NY, only around a 15mile round trip. Attended this show with the NE GS/GN club and The LHV region of the BCA. A few pictures. P.S. The Electra is now 3 for 3 in getting a trophy since I got it.
  4. Drove over to Pound Ridge NY for their car show on Sat. with the Electra. Around 15 miles round trip. Over 300 cars. The car won a trophy and my Grandsons corvette go kart did also along with his dad's Nova and his other Granpa's Mustang. It was a family affair and a great time. Too many pictures to share so I will post some Buicks that were there.
  5. Thanks for the info. I booked my room today for the meet. It is the same Hotel that was used for this years Founders Tour. It is a very nice hotel and location. Looking forward to it.
  6. Hemmings Musclepalooza was postponed from Sunday to Monday. Instead of taking the FAST 73 GS to run Qualifying yesterday and having to go back Monday and sleeping over with nothing to do Sunday. I decided to only do 1 qualifier tomorrow and then the races. So yesterday I took the wife on a 200+ mile ride up the west coast of the Hudson river and the return ride down the East coast of the river. Stopped at West Point, Kingston, Saugerties, Olana, Rhinebeck, and Hyde Park. We took the Bear Mountain bridge West over the Hudson and the Rip Van Winkle Bridge back East over the Hudson. It was our first time in Saugerties and our first trip over the Rip Van Winkle Bridge. Beautiful day for a scenic drive! The Electra now has a little over 19,700 miles from 18,500 when I bought it a little over a month ago. I did sign up for the AACA mileage award and making good progress. Looking forward to racing tomorrow at Lebanon Valley.
  7. I just booked a room at the host hotel. There was no room available for Wednesday. I booked for Thursday through Sunday. Any info for hotels close by to get a room for Tuesday and Wednesday?
  8. Finally have time to sit down and do a post. Last Wednesday I went to Bear Mountain again with the Electra. Thursday was a Ct. Cafe Racers lunch in Norwalk Ct. again with the Electra. Saturday and Sunday was racing the 73 GS 455 in the SuperCar (Stock Tire) class at the NE Mopar Nats at EnglishTown NJ. Plus on Sunday my friends with the NE GS/GN Club came to EnglishTown to run in the MOPARS Vs. the World race. I wont post too many pictures this time! ;-) All in all a good car week.
  9. Wednesday evening Bear Mountain NY cruise in. Over 300 cars. Always a great turnout. Took the Electra for its first cruise in and my first time at this venue this year. Around 40 miles roundtrip.
  10. I recieved my confirmation #10 last month. The envelope is dated July 21st. Looking forward to my first Hershey and my car's first showing anywhere since its completion from a 4 year restoration. 1973 Century Gran Sport Stage1 4 speed. Class 36F
  11. I took the new for me 75 Electra Ltd to a cars and coffee Sunday morning and then a ride to Greenwich Ct. for a Madison Avenue Sports Car Driving and Chowder Society annual picnic. Nice drive and a good time. Lots of pictures on the AACA FaceBook page. Has anyone ever seen a 4 door Avanti before? It was a first for me!
  12. Sorry we wont be able to go. I had already made a reservation at the host hotel and had to cancel it yesterday. We finally realized that the Saturday of the show is the Jewish Holiday Yom Kippur and for that reason we can't attend. Was thinking of travelling up for the tour Sunday but, that would be too much in one day. Have fun and hopefully next year we can attend. we were really looking forward to showing the Electra that I finally brought home last night. This is our new touring car for the BDE and AACA Tours.
  13. Judges registration is up. Show car registration is not working yet? Tried to register for the car show.
  14. Just booked a room at the Hampton Inn, Harrisburg East. Reasonable rates compared to some others for that week. Good Trip Advisor ratings. This will be my 1st Hershey meet! It will be the 1st showing for my freshly restored 73 GS 4 speed.
  15. I took the '73 SCO Yellow Stage 1 Sun Coupe to the New England Auto Museum show in Norwalk Ct. last Sunday . The car won the Favorite preservation award!
  16. I am about to go this afternoon and load up my car for the tour. Going to the Cannonball reunion tonight and Greenwich Concours as a spectator tomorrow. I am thinking that I should bring my 73 Century Grandma car with almost 53,000 miles on it. (I have put 4500 miles on it the past 3 years.) It had one crappy repaint before I bought it. My thinking is I will not have to worry about it on the tour and exploring during free time. I am thinking I would be nervous bringing my Senior award car and worrying about rain and parking, etc.
  17. Just finished the restoration that had to be pulled from the first shop. Thank you to John Csordas and the crew at The Auto Center in Chappaqua N.Y. for making it right. 1973 Century Gran Sport 4 speed. Most optioned. 1 of 92 built. Looking forward to bringing it hopefully to the BCA Nats.
  18. I will be bringing My 73 GS Sun Coupe. She just received a Senior award in Charlotte. :-) We are ready and excited for a nice tour. John S. It will be nice to have another beautiful 73 Buick on the Tour! P.S. One question, What are the details for trailer parking as I have not received any info on this. Thanks!!
  19. Just reserved 2 rooms for Milwaukee last week. Another reason to be there! Thanks.
  20. Seeing your truck at last years BCA meet in Allentown was one of the many highlights I will never forget!
  21. Congrats Brian. Well deserved! That is one beautiful car. Thank you for all the help at the meet.
  22. If you are on FaceBook just look up the AACA (use the full name) page. Maybe someone can post a link?
