  1. The Brillman Company. I just bought a set of plug wires. If their cables are as good, they will be great. Ben
  2. Fits me, Glenn. Just a different one. 1992 Roadmaster sedan. No reason to have anything else. Ben
  3. Aren't choices grand? I am happy for folks like edinmass that CAN check their distributor on a machine. I am happy for those of us that cannot. Our choice is just as important as yours. To us. But, you know, the original poster, who, btw, has never checked back, did not ask for our [ your ] opinion of Pertronix. He only asked where a black wire should be connected, I believe. Ben
  4. Best Gaskets. Olsen Gaskets in Port Orchard , WA. Probably can order from your local auto parts store as well. Ben
  5. The "bugs " were? Don't leave us wondering. There are several Aussies and Kiwis that frequent the Buick part of the Forums. Ben
  6. Summer of 1954. Two cars. Dads 1941 Buick, my 1940 Buick, both Specials. Thirteen [13] people crammed inside. Joplin, Mo to Duncan , AZ. I recall this as the one and only vacation worthy to be call such growing up. That was my last summer at home. Ben
  7. Thanks for the kudos, sir. I reckon brilliant is a little much, but I will take it. That is just one of several things we have learned over the years on these Straight Eights. Ben
  8. Post the picture with the engine on the H,A,M.B. Ben
  9. That "oil around the plugs" thing can PROBABLY be fixed. If you mean, oil accumulates around the plugs while driving. The holes the bolts for the short, low side rocker arm stands use are through holes directly above the plugs. The bolt threads must be treated with sealer to prevent oil wicking down . Ben
  10. Brings to mind the old saying" just because you can, ===". So ugly one can ALMOST become attracted. Almost. Ben
  11. Depends, EmTee. Later years, the draft tube, connected the same place, extended back past the engine. Ben
  12. Skidplate, two of what you are calling "vents" are in fact the fresh air inlet to the engine. The one on the valve cover is to let fresh air into the top of the engine, the one beneath the manifold at the back channels air into the lower crankcase. The outlet is the one on the passenger side where the road draft tube attaches. ALL MUST BE CLEAN. Ben
  13. This Roadmaster has been having trouble since at least 2006. OP has left the building, me thinks. Ben
  14. Back up not needed!! Full voltage IS needed. Folks really should check back occasionally. Ben
