  1. Could it be based on a British car? Austin comes to mind
  2. It looks like it should be from the 40's to me but I can not recall what it is for. Maybe an independant, kaiser, nash, hudson, etc? Will look some more this weekend.
  3. Interesting to compare the front to the Gatso sports car. Built in Amsterdam with mostly Ford parts.
  4. The view from the back appears it might have been a rear engine car. The rear fenders look similar to a early 60's Renault, but not exact. Maybe something French? Just a guess to get things going.
  5. It is hard to tell deminsions from the pictures but looks close to a 100 or 200 series from the mid 60's. The back side picture looks like it may have 66 in the numbers so that may be a starting place. My guess is it goes to a 1966 100 or 200.
  6. Thanks for sharing. Lots of interesting stuff here.

    1937 Dodge

The Dodge Truck forum below may be a good place to ask. There is a wealth of knowledge on Dodges floating around there. Hope someone can help with an answer.
  10. I think it goes behind the spare tire running along the inside of the fender. Could be wrong. Also Antique Old Buick Parts CARS, Inc. has the origional jacking instructions decal for the inside of the trunk for about 5.00 which should show everything and add something extra to the trunk area.
  11. My test was in a 56 Olds 88 4 door, green and white. Passed with no problems in 1958. Drivers ed was in a blue 57 Chevy. I learned to drive at 11 or 12 years old in the country in a 46 Plymouth coupe. The first vehicle that I could call my own was a 55 Chevy pickup that my dad wore out in the oil fields in West Texas. He gave it to me after he bought a new one.

    help

You might try posting this question in the Buick pre war section. You will likely find someone there who will know the answer. Good luck.
  13. I am not sure, but, I know the V-8 pickups start with 18, but it could be the 6 cyl had a different start number. Also could yours have been a military application? That said, I am not sure what you have is a complete serial number. Good luck with your rare truck!
  14. In the late 50's, I was a teen working nights at a service station in West Texas. There was a wrecking yard next door which got a lot of 30's and 40's cars. They would pull the radios from the cars as they came in and test them. The working ones went on a shelf, but the non working ones were tossed. The old man that night watched there knew I liked the radios and would save the non working ones for me. Usually there was just a bad tube and I could combine a couple of radios and make a working one. Wish I had kept them now. They would be worth a few bucks and make some car guys very happy.

    Horn button

Looks similar to mid 50's chrysler styling, but can not identify it for sure. 57 plymouth maybe.
  16. Not exactly a collector car by most people, in 1990 I traded a wrecked 86 crown vic for a 69 Dodge pickup with 63,000 miles. It was a 318, automatic, with air, but no power steering! Kept it for 14 years until we moved across country and could not take it. It had less than 70,000 miles at that time. Still miss that ole truck.

    Pontiac emblem

1946 Pontiac front fender trim. Goes just behind the wheel opening (slanted side fits wheel opening) and the silver streaks run from the emblem to the back of the fenders.

    need help

I can not remember about Dodge for sure, but I think the SN is stamped into the frame somewhere near the front spring brackets. Also if you have the engine, possibly on a flat surface near the manifold. Worth a try...
  19. Full size 60-64 ford used an expansion tank similar to this, but not for sure if the same.
  20. Picture #2 is 56 oldsmobiles. My step dad had a friend that owned the Olds dealership near us, and he would get a new Olds each year. I know he had 53, 54, 55, and 56. They were great cars. The 55 was my favorite because it was the first 4 door hardtop to hit West Texas and also the first he bought with air conditioning. The truck appears to be a mid 50's Gmc or possibly Chevy.
  21. A picture would be great.
  22. Well.... there are still a few advantages to being older than dirt, and loving cars. That is as long as the memory stays together. I have always had a fasination for insturment panels on cars when there was still styling involved, and not just a gray clump of plastic and some round gauges like most cars today.
  23. Thanks for posting the pictures, Jim. Very interesting old truck.
  24. The one on the left looks like it may be 1952 pontiac
