  1. This appears to be an import speedo. Check out this find in Finland with pics. www.forwardlook.net/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=4212
  2. In the link I mentioned above, also note the front bumper and badge in the center of it look like a close match to the car in question also. I am not sure the cars are from the same year, but seem close to me.
  3. check this link to help decide. wwwjliptrap.us/thecar.htm
  4. Just a guess, if it is car related maybe DeSoto ?
  5. Not sure, but I seem to remember early 50's oldsmobile had similar inside lights.
  6. #3 is a 1947 - 1949 buick speedo. GM used this style in lots of applications, but I think Buick may be the only one showing 120 mph. 49- 53 Chevy trucks used the same size and type of numbers but only went to 80 mph.
  7. Out of all the cars I have owned, the one that stands out in my mind was a 67 Cadillac sedan deville, sky blue with a dark blue interior. Low milage and great shape for a 20 year old. I saw an ad in the paper for it saying it was not running. Bought it from an old couple for 300.00 and towed it home. It had started "smoking" and quit running so they did not check what was wrong, just went and bought a new Chrysler. Replaced a blown radiator hose and dried out everything that had been saturated with antifreeze and it was ready to take our family on many outings.
  8. Several years ago before diesel powered tractors became popular, many farmers had propane tractors and pickups converted to use propane also because it was considered farm fuel and not taxed. It worked very well and as you said the trucks could be run on gasoline or propane. The biggest drawback at that time was the pressure in the fuel lines. If a line blew it was very dangerous. It was very popular in Texas in the 50's and 60's and started to fade as diesel tractors began to take over.
  9. I believe the foot pedal may be a truck or bus application. Seems I remember a simular one on a early 50's GM bus. I have no idea of the correct vehicle though. It may have been used on various models. Maybe this will help spark someone's memory.
  10. some photos are in the Studebaker section, as he said.
  11. Do you have a pic of the complete piece in the first photo? Might help to pin down the ID. Also go to www.59ford.com for some great close up shots. There is a very good one of the headlight ring plus many more.
  12. I think Lawteachr is right. 59 ford fairlane passenger side.
  13. Think you are correct, Leonard. Missing headlights fooled me at first. I would like to get a good view of that license plate.
  14. Looks like 1960 Renault Dauphine, possibly other years too.
  15. Beautiful ride, Fayt. How long have you had it? Where are you located?
  16. Good picture. Looks like that is it. In the picture I saw earlier, the smaller gauges were slightly diferent. It may have been from a diferent trim level or production change because of the war.
  17. very close to matching a 42 pontiac set, but not exact. I think it will be from the same era.
  18. Looks to be GM. May fit a chevy, pontiac, etc, from the same time period?
  19. The shaft looks too long for the door, could be trunk. They had long shafts because they mounted thru the trunk handle about that time.
  20. No prob. I enjoy looking thru the site to see if I can recognise any of the items or cars.
  21. I seem to remember a similar speedo on a full size 1961 Dodge. Go to Yahoo and type in "1961 Dodge dash" in images and see if you think it is a possibility.
  22. Glad to help. My step father had a chevy pickup from that era for many years, so it looked very familiar.
