R W Burgess
Lamar, It's even more exciting to win one of those awards. You arrive at Philly already anticipating something from your "notification letter", then you wear a name-tag all weekend with a wibbon denoting you as a winner. So, everyone knows you got something big. Saturday night is the fun part when your name is announced and you walk up to the platform to receive your award under the spotlight. Believe me, it's something you need to experience. Wayne
24T42
Just curious - the Publications committee has already mailed their letters of notification; the Internet committee is mailing at 1st of the year. Has the National award letters gone out yet? If so, it is awful quiet out their in Cyberland!
Bhigdog
I got a letter about a week ago inviting me to Phila. for an award for my 57 Buick but it didn't say why......Bob.
Steve Moskowitz
Judy, yes most of the National Award letters have gone out but some are left as a surprise.

R W Burgess
Please keep something in mind. Just because you're notified about winning an award, doesn't mean you can't get another. I almost left early last year after receiving my newsletter award, when in fact, I received the Ann S. Eady towards the end of the night. Soooo, I'd suggest taking in the whole show if you have a special ribbon to wear. you may never know what it's really for. Wayne
Steve Moskowitz
The National Awards committee meets in early December...always, so the winner notifications do not go out until mid-December normally. Guys, there are no losers in this deal, every car nominated is worthy of winning. It is a very difficult job choosing between all these great cars. 24T42
Steve,Although it is great to get a 'letter' from National, surprises are good also. Last year, I was seated at the table with JoAnna Cooper who won several Special Philly surprises. It made a great evening even better. Can't wait to see you gets a Philly surprise this year.Congratulations to everyone.
Guest John W. Harvey
Cindy and I have never attended the Annual meeting and Awards ceremony. We decided in September to make our hotel reservations for 2006 and include Philly in our 2006 schedule. In October, for the second year in a row, we received a letter that our 74 Monte was nominated. Last year, we got the thumbs down letter ........ but this year, we got the thumbs up letter. So, that makes our plans to visit Philly and attend the annual meeting more meaningful! We are looking forward to seeing everyone. One question, the "First Lady's Breakfast"...... is this for male and female or is it a "female only" affair?John
Steve Moskowitz
John, it is usually a ladies affair but i do not think they would kick you out if you wanted to attend.
Peter J.Heizmann
John and Cindy...WOW!! Way to go. The award is absolutely well deserved based upon all the hard work, participation, and, support of the club's functions over the years. My humble opinion... Congratulations!! Peter J.

R W Burgess
Congradulations John. Sure you can go to the First Ladies Breakfast. I've got a lady's wig you can borrow. Don't ask why I have one. Wayne
